So I moved from the west side to the east side of the state and trying to Learn some of the edibles here.I found these north of spokane wa in some old growth forest

 I will try to do a better id request from home but just seeing if anyone knew right away if these are tasty or not. Thanks

Looks more like Russula brevipes. Definitely not a chanterelle.

it has gills, not a chant. chants have ridges or veins. looks like a russuala or lactatius

Thank you!! I knew they didnt look quite right but wasnt sure not being used to this side of the mountains.I told the wife the gills (which should be ridges) looked wrong to me but didn't know if there was a bigger difference then I thought with white chants since I did read they grow on this side. Mushroom hunting is a lot different over here.

I love primus!! I saw the residents around 1993 on their wormwood tour. it was a lot of fun

I love Primus too! Listened to Frizzle Fry today.
That Russula is edible. It is what a Lobster mushroom is before it is infected.
I have not eaten them myself yet. I found one about 11" across on my group foray last week though.
