Yea I don't know that there is anywhere to get oust anymore. The lysol spray should work, there is only one other product out I've seen that sanitizes air and the is Ozium, which is over priced but is more powerful. The lysol has one of the same ingredients in it tho.
What I want to know is can you sterilize the air with bleach in a spray bottle/humidifier/fogger?

You guys are putting too much emphasis on cleaning the air when you should be more focused on your technique.

You got me all wrong, technique is def where attention is focused. But it is nice to not have that lurking feeling that the air is heavily contaminated, and may ruin all you efforts and practiced techniques.
I live in an old house where there is mold in some corners and carpet in every room.

you are right about the technique of things and im fine with mine. i've just read to much about people ousting the shit of thing then seen it again in your bucket thread. so figured since im working on doing my 1st g2g that maybe it would be wise to have. after all 70 jars g2g on 1st shot would make anyone nervous that hasn't done it b4.

I understand where you're coming from.
Mostly though, you are just satisfying that feeling.
Even when you close the door, turn off the ac, and spray the air, it doesn't take long for your room to be heavily contaminated again.
Your room is full of air currents. As soon as the spray settles to the floor, that mold in the corner is going to be picked up by the natural currents in the room. Not to mention all the stuff on your walls, floor, and ceiling.
The SAB further isolates your work from these currents. A flowhood gives you clean air to work in.
If you have a SAB, like so many of us do, it doesn't matter if you have mold in the corners and your aerosol certainly does not remove it.
To some degree, aerosols do reduce airborne particulates by attaching to them and dragging them down. But unless you are wetting all your walls, floor, and ceiling, like you do your SAB, then it's mostly useless.
But, who can argue with that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you "sanitize" the air?

I'm also very curious about whether sanitizing the air within a glovebox is truly effective. I plan to do a G2G transfer within a glovebox, will spraying Lysol 1) do it's job and keep the air sanitary and 2) will suspended Lysol particles harm my spawn?

The spray acts to "grab" floating particles and drag them down with extra weight. Since the idea of a SAB is to let all the contams settle onto the wet walls and bottom, the spray should help that process. A small mist above the open box that's allowed to fall into the box right before lidding it up and letting it settle seems logical to me. If it doesn't help, it doesn't hurt either so

I just use soap water in my SAB. I get everything wet. I spray a little soap water in the air inside the box. Particulates get dragged down and stuck to the bottom. Anything that gets in gets mostly stuck to the top or sides. Air sanitizer will do no better.
But ultamatly, the air is very still inside a SAB. My movements in and out are very deliberate. I don't move at a snails pace, but I move slow. I try to avoid my arms moving in and out too much while I'm working.
In other words, I don't just flail around.

If you work inside a glove box just take a spray bottle full of 91% isopropyl alcohol and spray the inside really good. Have your jars, syringes, etc already in the box, then just put the lid back on and let it sit over night till you're ready to work the next day.
With this method combined with use of a pressure cooker I have gotten rid of contamination problems entirely, I still flame sterilize my needles between jars, all I did is cut out a little side hole on the bottom of my glove box for taking the syringe out of the box.

i like the ideal of that better then bleach or isopropyl alcohol. hate the strong ass smell of my s.a.b. after work is done with them both about knocks you out when you open it.

If you work in still air (which you should if you don't have a flowhood) then you do not need any air sanitizers at all.
If you are working in a SAB and still get contams with your sterile media, you need to work on your sterile technique.
You do not need to worry about airborne contams when spawning to pasteurized bulk substrate.
And if you are getting contams...air sanitizer is not going to help. It is not as effective as you think.
