Agar technique

This post is for posterity sake.
Do you tilt your agar dishes sideways when cutting, inoculating, or otherwise transferring?
With the dish laying flat, your hands and non-flame-sterilized part of your tools are over the dish.
Could this be a source of peoples ninja contams?

I tilt, but just because it's easier.

I do not, i do the last cut at the angle. It is easy to get it out that way and mu tool and specially hand are never over the plate.

Namely I started with 0.25mg.....and my intention was to increase dosage to see if something will happened. That very small dosage, the first dose of my experiments i planed, was very very strong.

I'm new to agar but working with jars. I tried not to tilt, and didn't at first, but recently doing a transfer of wedges to grain there was no other way.

I'm starting to wonder if there is any point in using IPA on my gloved hands.
I, and others, use soap water inside the SAB. I wonder if just using soap water on my gloves would actually be as good, if not better.
I know my SAB stays damp longer with soap water than with IPA.

I think you would find that using soap water on your gloves would make them very slippery, and you might have a hard time holding onto jars, opening them, etc.
I once tried using hand sanitizer gel on the gloves, figuring it would last longer. Couldn't get a grip on the jar or lid, couldn't open the jars. Fail.
