Yes, but what I'm trying to say is, a person can always take a picture of a spore print and you can see it with your own eyes. Smell can only be described and compared to something else, which is never quite right. Smell is of course very important for identification if you are the one smelling it. But if you are trying to identify something here for a person who writes 'smells like the ones I usually trip on' or 'smells like a store bought button mushroom', it doesn't help much, does it?
Although some smells such as Marzipan, its what i call the smell of A. augustus. I mean, comon anyone who has had almond flavoring knows that one, but i see the point, i always percieved smells much different than most people. I hate to compare this to pot, so i wont, ill use beer. To someone who doesnt drink beer, they wouldnt know the difference between bud light and guiness and know how to explain it right, but yeah, you have to immerse yourself in all the mushroomy smells, i think its an important "Characteristic" but more of an Individualistic characteristic. i had to rhymm. but yes agree with both....

I love when people get along, adn ideas are spread in peace, the other forums are scary right now.... lots of people arguing and randomly saying stupid stuff. Something about how bigfoot exists and praise allah, and how drugs are bad, and how drugs are good. LOL. You guys are great, and yes when they get the smell right its pretty damn helpful!
