Storing Freshly Picked Mushrooms for 36 hours

Alright so I just picked the fruits on my cake at around 9:00 am this morning and I won't be able to eat them until tomorrow (Friday) at around 9 PM. So that's about 36 hours and I stored them in a ziploc sealed container in the fridge...
Will they remain potent and not start rotting within the 36 hours? Idk if it was bruising but of the shrooms i really starting to turn blue in spots that weren't there a few hours ago when I placed them in the fridge.

Take the out of the ziploc, put them in a paper bag ( or bags ) in the fridge. Make sure it's a paper bag. Or a plate will work, don't have it in plastic bags

Yeah I removed them from the sealed ziploc container because I read past posts where you're not supposed to... So what I did is removed the lid of the ziploc and simply put saran wrap over that. I then put 2 holes in the saran wrap to allow for breathing. I'm just paranoid of molds in my fridge getting to it if I don't cover them in some way because I have no paper bags in my apartment. Do you think that'll be a good setup (ziploc container, no lid, saran wrap with holes to breath)?

Haha ironically I'm out of paper towels... I mean last resort could I wrap them in aluminum foil instead of paper towels?

They're food, why not treat them as such. Paper bag, or something that allows air exchange (Breathes).
Placing them in air tight containers will cause them to go bad. Put in a tub without the lid or simply sat on top..

They will 'sweat' moisture, which condenses on the plastic, then on your shrooms causing wet spots for bacteria/mold to grow. Give them something that breaths (paper bag, paper towel, cloth, etc) to prevent this. Stored right they can last 2-3 weeks or more and won't lose potency.

Thank you for actually explaining the science behind why you guys are stressing over a closed container. I didn't realize that the reason it would mold is because of the condensation of it releasing some of its own water. That's an answer I was looking for and I thank you STygianKnight

I threw a bunch of mine in a ziploc bag (unzipped to allow for oxygen). They still look fine and non slimy for the weekend.

Yeah I had to remove them from the open ziploc container and transfer them to a shirt... It started to turn green where the mushrooms were resting on the plastic so hopefully they will still be good for tomorrow night... I just wish I could do them tonight but I've got too much responsibility to take care of tomorrow.

Just set them out on a plate in an area with good air flow to begin the process of drying out.

I mean wouldn't that allow for potency to drop though? I mean I guess it comes down to risk-benefit analysis...
So they've started forming those green spots already, does that mean they're going to continue to rot over the next 24 hours before I can ingest them? Should I just set em out to dry and bear the risk of losing potency?

If you just picked them and there was no "green spots" before then I think what you're seeing is bruising. And I wasn't aware of a correlation between air drying and potency loss. If someone could link me to that it would be a good read.

Oxidization is the key... I was under the impression your loosing such a minute amount of actives do to drying out, it doesn't really matter. psilocin starts to break down as soon as you harvest(Unstable), but Psilocybin is turned into Psilocin through digestion.
