The passage of time is inevitable. You may be young now but one day you will be old. Saying so I will get to my point. We live in the now and we are all going through it, just as all the deceased did before us. You have no control over the passage of time. One day you will be in the now once again but you will be old and weary. From then forth you will be dead. End story, the end of your time will come and there is no stopping it. So enjoy life.. because you are already dead.

I met this young hottie last Saturday night, but I turned her down for a romp as I am not into necrophilia.

Just tell me how you feel now, when before you were young. I'm 31 now and I think it will be like that when you get older and older, then ::kapoot::

We don't know what this is or how it works. Aging could be a) avoidable b) curable by science in our generation and c) irrelevant to the lifespan of what you really are.
So what if you have to endure a broken body. You do not know why you are decaying and you do not know where you are headed. It is pure speculation to say death is end of everything.

Yesterday I was thinking how much it would suck to be beheaded, your entire perception rolls around with you on the floor and your face is buried in the dirt or left to stare into the sky for the last few moments of eternity.

Now that's funny in a very twisted sort of way. Monty Pythonish?

There is no guarantee of old age. Otherwise yep, its all as good as gone already. No sense trying to save any of it.

It's all fleeding... nicely said.
A lot of people realize this, and I think that's the easy part. It's easy to understand that intellectually, but it's hard to actually live everyday thinking about that and keeping that in mind. I know I myself am guilty of letting this simple sentiment escape me.

Dood I have thought that same exact thing. You are already dead and the only things that exists is memories. It is a little relaxing to think that you are already dead. If you are already dead, you can do anything or you can do nothing

I obsess over such thoughts daily.
I don't think it is good for one's mental health, and I try to busy myself each day so I spend less time obsessing over such thoughts.
If I don't busy myself my thoughts quickly overwhelm me, and it retards my ability to engage life in a productive manner.

I don't think it's good for one's mental health to obsess over them either, but I do think there's a healthy way to integrate it into one's life. I'm not necessarily the best example of it, but I do think there's a way to balance thoughts like that, and to make them be a productive thing in one's life to help through their life and to make the most of one's life.
Usually though, I become too busy with things, where a thought like that never even crosses my mind. It's kind of funny though, because regardless of what I'm busy with, it is meaningless and pointless in an ultimate sense. No sense in clinging I suppose -- or trying not to cling is what I'm getting at. Maybe it just can't be helped.

Death and its implications is always on my mind, when I was a teenager I trained myself to hold it there. Most of my meditative exercises have been to focus on the idea of death and the process of dying, to experience the sensations of dying as much as I could imagine.
That's never a comfortable process but I'd rather live my life in the shadow of death knowingly than avoid the inevitable and be buried in superficiality.

It makes it hard to apply myself and care about things. Maybe it would be easier if I hadn't experimented with drugs so much. After feeling such extreme euphoria, it can be hard to take shit seriously.

Maybe, that made it difficult for me at times (post-binge). It wasn't until I turned 23 that it started to get easier, at this point it doesn't bother me as much.
Can't really say how DA should be handled, I like to confront it and spend at least a little time every day thinking about it, even if its just 5min here and there. Most people avoid admitting they'll die altogether different strokes for different folks.
