Cactus ID trichocereus peruvianus & pachanoi
    #18862282 - 09/19/13 09:58 AM (10 years, 4 months ago)

Hey guys,

Here are some cacti I grew from seeds (I ordered some T. Peruvianus and T. Pachanoi seeds).

On these 2 photos, to me it looks like T. Peruvianus is at the left, and T. Pachanoi is at the right. Could you confirm this to me? I'm just not so good at IDing young plants.

I dont think anyone on here is good iding young plants. Let them grow out to a couple of feet and it might be easier to know.

It may be early, but they seem to show classic characteristics of Peruvianus (left) and Pachanoi (right).

These young plants can be later when they got full sun and few seasons very different as well what comes to color of skin and spinal formation..

Cannot even say are they hybrids or not.. Seedlings are very hard to ID, especially tichocereus.

Looks they are trichocereus plants but saying for sure exact species is impossible. Only mature growth of columnar cactus can help the ID better. Trichocereus starts to look mature appearance from seed grown at height of 50-60centimeters. Depends how fast they have grown but one meter good light got trichocereus should be good enough to get ID from it.
