cotton seed hulls?
    #18861765 - 09/19/13 06:54 AM (10 years, 4 months ago)

I have been reading and studying for months now to get a process for me to make a few batches of oyster mushrooms. I tried once before with pasturized oak pellets, it worked but flush was veeeery low and took forever to colonize. I don't have room or tools to cut down a bale of straw although that seems to be the substrate od choice for oysters.  I read that coton seed hulls could be a viable substrate has anyone on this wonderful forum given them a shot and how wete the results in comparison to the accepted straw bags?

Just enrich the sawdust with some spent coffee grounds. Up to 3o percent wet weight. No need to use cotton hulls.
