A few jar incoluation questions

Every one of my jars is taking around 2 weeks to show signs of mycelia...on different occasions. what can be the cause of these aside from temperature? Also most of my Mycelia is right on top of the jar, bordering the verm if not growing into it!? Any tips on how to avoid this? It's probably during inoculation that I don't get the spore solution deep enough...any tips on this?

There are many different factors, although I believe that you have not distributed the spores deep enough into your jars. I have also noted that even if you have witnessed the spore solution get deep your jar, it all depends on which spores develop first. Give it time. It dosent matter where it happens, just give it time and in most cases (given, your working with half pint jars) you'll be golden. GL scoops

Also, in my experience moisture content can be a determining factor of growth rate in jars.
Make sure you are using exactly the amounts of each ingredient prescribed including water.
Good luck.

you guys are great, would incoluating the jar while holding the jar slightly sideways help, what about lightly shaking the jar after? I do think thought its the moisture content now that u mention it Peace Pilgrim. I never understood how much water to mix in. If i was making pan cyans requiring verm,manure,brf....would I mix the whole thing and then add water until it can't hold any more or add water separately to each ingredient, apologies if this is an irrelevant question thats impossible to answer generally in the first place

You don't want to shake after inoculation, you want the spores in close proximity to eachother so they can mate and if you shake you would be spreading them further apart. You'd have a really tough time trying to shake brf anyway. Grains are what you would shake, and you would do that once they're 20-30% colonized.

It is a good idea to inoculate onto the glass and let the syringe water flow down the side, that way you can see when the spores start germinating or spot contaminations early in the process.
