Hey guys, went on my first hunt today for some mushies. Wasnt really expecting to find much especially in the middle of the woods in the dark, but did find some mushrooms in a muddy hay type pile on the edge of the woods. Not really expecting them to be actives, but if someone could attempt to tell me what I'm dealing with would be great! this way ill have a better idea of what to look for next time around! Any help is awesome and appreciated!
Habitat:Found on the edge of the woods in small muddy hay pile in southeastern ohio Gills: find and close together although actual mushrooms are quite small. Color: Grey on stem, very light gray on center top of the cap towards a greenish gray on the sides of the cap.
Stem: about 3 inches long with a diameter a little bit less than that of a pinkie finger
Cap: about .75 inch diameter with a light gray center turning to more of a greenish gray on the outher edge
Spore print color: Havent had a chance to make a spore print as i just gathered these tonight however I am planning on doing this ASAP, info or a link to some useful info on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.
Bruising: No bruising
Other information: Mushrooms were bunched together and fairly small in size.

Were they growing in a dense cluster? Maybe a Lyophyllum species.

Can we get a picture of the gills, and if possible showing where the stem and gills meet?
-------------------- Favorite quote: I want to know if they are active and magic or not. And if they are not active, can i pick them before they are active and then they will become active or do they have to grow till they activate?

Yes they were fairly dense however I think I picked them too early because most of them are pretty small... I will post a picture of the gills
