    #18756294 - 08/25/13 06:05 PM (10 years, 5 months ago)

I just got my laminar flow hood going. I have a print. Any advice on which route to take to shroomville?

Spore to Agar. Once you have a clean plate cut up a few wedges and inoculate grain. Grow out a tub. Clone the best fruit from the first flush to Agar. Put wedges of the clone to grain, make a master slant for storage. Keep expanding clone on grain and making tubs. Win.

Make some syringes, or go with the spores dropped onto some agar. Both work well. Try grain to grain. Inoculate a master jar then transfer the grains from that jar to several jars. Good luck!

Wait you just went for it with a flow hood without really having much idea as to what you are doing?

Either should work. One of the most experienced posters here prefers MEA.

MEA will work fine. You can always grab a little yeast and make MEYA to switch it up a little. Frank Horrigan has been having good results with MEYA. I've only used MEA so far and its worked fine. I've used it for no pour agar jars, poured disposable plates, slants. No problems yet.
