Loudest sporting event in history!

Seahawks stadium now holds the record for loudest sporting event ever. 136 decibels. That's nuts because some soccer stadiums hold so many more people than century link can fit. Just shows how passionate Seattle fans are! 49ers fans are AWFULLY quiet this week! Discuss

There you go.
I was at a Broncos game years ago when Guiness World Records were there and the crowd set a record for loudest stadium.
Good for the Seahawks. I think the shape of the stadium amplifies the sound.

I was listening to something last night that said the only reason they are that much louder is because the shape of the dome/ceiling or whatever that amplifies the sound. I am not going to get too much into it without knowing what I'm talking about, but i can't imagine people in Seattle just yelling louder than anyone else in the world.

I say that because tools that think it's cool to disturb and/or damage the hearing of those around them are inconsiderate fuckwads.

Organized sports suck as well.
Damaging the hearing of those around you just sucks more.

Ear plugs are $2 across the street. Most people payed over $200 for their ticket. Interesting chart though thanks for posting. I need to cut down on blasting my music before I go deaf!

You can buy them in bulk for less. You shouldn't have to.

Bullshit american football gets louder than Euro Football.
They just dont get into that stupid gimmicky shit like measuring the sound at a game, so they can pretend they are the most diehard fans in sports.
Century link
67,000 and a fucked up stadium that is designed to hold noise in, in one of americas most liberal cities.
100,000 in a regular style tripple deck stadium from a region with a strong history of rebellion and regional identity
Ya you tell me which one is more intimidating
lets not even get into hooliganism

I love US football but Euros have us beat for passion, mostly because their countries are shit and they have nothing better to do.

uhrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr for 95 minutes in the worlds most watched event Greatest troll ever
Ya that is louder than Seattle. My beef with Seattle is they cant even come up with their own traditions. 12th man is A@M, come on guys get your shit together.
Solid ass team though, looking forward to a broncos 49ers/seahawks Super Bowl. Still think the 9ers are a better team but thats just me.

I wonder if distance to next team relates to sound?

It's kind of a desert when it comes to pro teams around the PNW and no one around here want s to be all SF or Raiders fans.

It should be Oakland, Oakland already cant sell tickets to any of their pro teams. Cali hardly needs another team that has little to no fan base, ala LA clippers or Oakland As.
