My psychotria is finally getting big enough for me to feel comfortable experimenting with cutting leafs.
I've seen a couple teks and it seems relatively easy. I've read that getting the leaf to produce new plants requires high temperatures and high humidity.
I don't own a greenhouse but I do have a sgfc laying around from my other hobby lol. I know this could provide the humidity but it is the temperature im worried about. The winter is on its way and my house gets quite cold sometimes. The mother plant has already been through two winters with me so I know she will be fine but idk if a new baby plant will be able to handle it.
Should I just wait til next spring to try this?
Do you think the sgfc will work or is there a point where too much humidity could be a bad thing?

I would try it. You only need one leaf, not going to hurt the plant to much and you can cut it in half, stick each part in two different pots, stem end in the soil. Same with the top half of the leaf just pretend it has the original stem attached.
Just try and keep it in a warm area. In a month you may have a couple new plants. The SG will work n if you find it to humid you can fan more or take out some perlite.. I used a big plastic jug cut and scran wrapped back together, it has little air flow and was very humid, They also were misted daily so the leaves didn't dry out.
Good luck!

Well, september is the month of cuttings. In Canada is quite cold i think, but if you make cuttings indoor (so 18-20° C) will be ok. I'm planning to make my cuttings of P viridis this week outdoor (i don't live in canda lol). I will try with hydroponic ... This will be my first winter of my viridis...Coul you tell me where do you keep it and how much light it receive? My house is pretty dark and tree cover my windows. Do you think a north (window) will be nice? (so no direct light)

You'll need warmth for striking cuttings. If you look on the net (Ebay etc) then you can find heated propagation chambers that don't cost much. With one of those bad boys you'll be able to strike cuttings and germinate seeds all year round!
