help with identification

Habitat:
I found these growing inn my compost pile which consist of horse manure and wheat straw.

Gills:
The gills appear white

Stem:
Stem is about 4 to 5 inches and hollow.

Cap:
Color is a dark brown to caramel.

Spore print color:
Dont have a spore print
And no bruising

Those aren't liberty caps or anything else active, if that's what you are hoping for. I think you got yourself a hygrocybe species.

I didnt think they were anything active. But they keep appearing in my compost pile. Thanks for the help

Cool, it wouldn't have been a crime if you had thought they were. Just important to get that out there right away, because believer it or not, some people are so desperate to get high, that they might do something stupid! :badshroom:
