Canceling the negative effects of a previous trip?
    #18857488 - 09/18/13 11:13 AM (10 years, 4 months ago)

Hello everyone, I'm coming to you with a serious question and I think you guys can help me out with it.
About a year and a half ago (March 2012), I had a bad trip on "LSD". I know it wasn't real lsd because it tasted metallic on my tongue. I took a blotter, then half of another one, and by that time I was feeling delirious and took the rest of the other one. The trip turned bad quickly, and everything I did only seemed to make it worse. The trip lasted 13 hours. I experienced anxiety, paranoia, visual and auditory hallucinations, nausea, intense headaches, my body felt numb but also in a lot of pain.. for example I scratched up my arm and didn't feel anything, but my body inside and out was in so much pain it felt as though I was dying. I lost control of my muscles, I was paralyzed and remember having intense muscle spasms/seizures. I felt extremely cold, even though I was drenched in sweat. I thought I was losing my mind.
After the trip, I experienced panic attacks everyday for 2-3 months, psychosis and HPPD (which I still experience to this day), mood swings, depression..
When I get upset, things start slowing down and songs begin to repeat in my head and I get tunnel vision. Whenever I look at the sky, it begins to shimmer and morph.

I've lost interest in many things that I used to love doing like painting, sketching, listening to music, watching movies, leaving the house...

I'm also very sensitive. There are songs I can't listen to because I get too emotional and a movie or commercial on TV can ruin my entire day.

I'm tired of living this way and I want to get better so I come to you guys with this question, should I try taking shrooms to possibly reverse the negative effects I'm experiencing?
A few months ago I did attempt to shroom but ended up not taking enough to experience a trip.. but I did experience something strange. It felt as though I was trapped underneath ice, that I needed just a bit more to break through and free myself. But thats all that happened.

Please help!  :um:  thanks guys

I can't give you any good advice on whether to trip or not again as it's kind of a double edged sword... But I would recommend some therapy.

Out of curiosity though, how experienced were you before this trip? And do you have any family history of mental issues?

1. calm the fk down.
2. dont do psychedelics and calm down. You talk as if the psychedelics are something you have to do. No you don't. Just forget about them.

Experience wise, I had already shroomed numerous times and taken LSD once (and had a good trip).
And family history, none that I know of.

Odd, wish I knew why these things happened. I've a handful of absolutely horrific trips as well as many other tense ones and don't have the slightest bit of impact on my psyche. I've surely thought I would many times, but still don't. Sorry bud  These kind of stories are a bit sobering.

Hi

You could trip again and maybe it could help you BUT you need to be careful of the opposite happening.

Myself I took a lot of DOB recently(sold on blotter like LSD) and 4-aco-dmt and had a very bad time...(anxiety and depression for weeks after.) I still feel the detachment from reality after that trip (what reality?)

tonight i feel like i am ready to break through an trip again.

Remember, this world is an illusion.

op your post is exactly why I turned to shrooms...

I had a wicked bad LSD trip about three years ago, yes I had tripped before like maybe 6 or 7 times , loved E and smoking pot too ..

but this lsd trip was it for me, ever since I had that one bad trip my life was turned upside down , anxiety, depression and constant panic attacks , I couldn't even go to the shops and buy a drink with out having my heart reach above 160,170 if ya know what I mean.
paranoid big time and all ways thinking negative thoughts .. I use to relate myself to songs, tv , anything that was on my mind in a negative way.

it got so bad I was fed up with it all and started reading big time in ways which could help cure my anxious thoughts about this day to day world I was living in and this is how I became a shroomery member ... I had never ever tried shrooms before In my life never even thought about them really and I will say this ...

THEY SAVED MY LIFE AND CHANGED IT COMPLETELY

mushrooms completely cured me of exactly what you describe of having in your post . AS well as having an understanding about what I was tripping for and not just some preconceived idea that this may or may not work ...

like I said I did so much research on this subject before even thinking about just downing some mushrooms ..
my soul purpose was exactly that , to cure my anxiety and all negative aspects of my life, to give my life meaning again not to just hide away like I was

its different for everyone I guess so I cant just say yea dude have 3 grams and you will be cured .

you have to believe it and you also have to want it!!!!!!

too this day I have tripped 5 times and all 5 times have been by myself .. I don't look at mushrooms and see a party drug which should be taken for that reason.

My outlook on them is that it is my medicine and they are such a helpful wonderful things that is beautiful in every way and this is now how I look at myself and others around me.

I use to want to kill myself at times ,, never acted , just thoughts
but the mushrooms fixed this in every way.
it took me 5 months of preparation, studying, and most of all commitment to achieve what I wanted it didn't happen on the first trip it more like my third time which was quite a heavy dose and it was this time I really held the power to change my thoughts and thinking patterns while on this wonderful trip .

IT CAN BE DONE YOU JUST HAVE TO EARN IT... oh and I also don't take acid any more and I would do the same if I were you ...

GOOD LUCK and enjoy dude

Wow, reading this post has given me so much hope; it's exactly what I needed to hear from someone. I'm so happy for you and your successful trips. I as well see mushrooms as entheogens and have always taken them by myself. I'm really glad things are better for you now, thank you so much for replying to my thread.
I'll definitely be doing some more studying.. luckily for me I just moved to fort myers :smirk:

it sounds like there is an issue you need to confront in your life that is really eating at you..

what is the root of what set you off?

im not sure if i would dabble in psychedelia again until you address the issue that has you so freaked in the first place.

thats just my advice though. i dont know your whole situation.

I think you're right. Someone wronged me pretty bad and I was never able to get over it. I wanted to trip to erase the memory and set my mind at ease. Ironically it did the opposite; and now its been all I can think about.
I've tried to deal with it when sober and when stoned, but I'm only at peace for short periods of time.
I think shrooms (low dose) can help me dive deeper into my mind and really fix the problem.
I've taken them before (always a low dose) and the trips were always therapeutic.

well mushrooms have helped clear my mind and are being studied as a cure for depression lately they seem to work very well  but all psych's are not the same dont do any other ones if you have problems already they could get much worse and it sounds like you had DOC or something which is more of an amphetamine that last a day or so with some visuals and such but there are lots of fake acids now wich realy sucks . If only people would just say what they are actually selling maybe rc's would get used more but one evryone just calls it all lsd u never know wtf u r getting unless it is a trusted source but then how do they even sell it to new customers with all thes rippofs???
TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT WHAT YOU SELL OK!!!

this trouble the only way to know is send it to a LAB which not everyone has.

basically you have to take that risk now if you want to continue taking ACID.

I wouldn't touch anything that unless you are 100% sure of its quality/purity. I have never taken something in powder form or blotter form. Have you ever looked at the MDMA pill analysis websites almost every pill isn't even MDMA! Mushrooms are chill because you know they are mushrooms! Maybe try mescaline its really smooth and near impossible to have a bad trip..
or just take a break all together..

Everything is mental. Everything is controlled by your brain and its chemicals. Think happy thoughts. Be confident.

^ Beg the differ. Some side effects from drugs you can't bypass.. numb limbs, pounding heart rate, sweating profusely, and countless other side effects.. The mental thing can somewhat be controlled but the side effects alone can be mentally draining.

Beg the differ?

Also I agree, but I think that part of it is mentally telling yourself that the side effects are normal. LSD can't kill you, so its just mental how you wanna deal with the averse side effects braaa.

OP I'd definitely wait a while longer before doing significant doses of shrooms again. You know, just sit one the idea for awhile and do some more reading and thinking. Test the waters a little first.

Also, if you don't do this already, you will be amazed at how much getting your body involved helps to clear up emotional etc... issues. Do some stretching/yoga + breathing, it will release tensions stored in the muscles. Also, nothing beats a nice walk in nature. If this gets you feeling better on an incrementally upward scale then I'd say it's time to possibly consider a low dose of mushrooms + yoga.
