Just got on the Google machine to find out what they are. Interesting. I assume there aren't any psychoactive species?

Newbie here, I was hoping these last days of rain could bring me some luck, and its meant to rain these next couple days but it's been pretty hot, like 19c+. I can't help but feel sketchy when looking for them in public. I live near a large river thats surrounded by parks and trees and whatnot but nothing. It's most likely too late, I started getting interested in these at the absolute worst time time. ):

Edit: looks like its raining quite a bit still!

Good luck, I haven't been looking much but the only thing I've seen around is Psathyrellaceae sp. on a field of grass and some really old Leratiomyces ceres.
By all means get out there and have a look but if you're interested in finding P. subaeruginosa then do as much research as you can and get at it late autumn/early winter next year.

Also I'm very interested in morels, I think the only Victorian ones I've read about were picked in recently bushfire affected bush, anyone had any luck with Vic Morels?

Yeah, would anyone suggest going at night? I can't shake off the feeling of walking around a public area where people go for jogging and just looking around the bushes. Will try my luck and go look for some after the rain ends. The place near where I live, there is quite a bit that's filled up with the bleached, light grey type of woodchips though :/
I feel like I've ready alot but good thing is there's always more to read up on!
Might be off topic, but would one suggest cultivating them during the off season?
