You hydrate your grains with a combination of soaking/simmering and boiling. For odd combinations of grains, you're going to have to figure out what works best. I would suggest using the search feature to help your endeavors.

While awaiting a reply to this thread. To a 60z jar I added 4oz of material and 2oz of water. I just closed the lid to the P.Cooker. I'll report back. Thank you for taking interest to help x)

OP, you're trying to use this grain mixture for the initial inoculation or for a bulk substrate?

Right, but are you going to move these to a bulk substrate or are you trying to make a cake out of grains? What is the goal after you have full colonization of your jars?

I only have 12 jars for this yield, so I want to utilize all I can. I have plenty of liquid culture for more than I could wish to grow. As far as method, I'm going to break up the substrate and let them grow from a flat surface.

Sounds like you are using canary seed. Refer to my WBS tek for how to do it. Do not boil your grains after the soak, only heat and strain
My WBS tek which will work great for your grains.

My take on this Is that he's saying he's doing something like this instead of soak/simmer http://www.shroomery.org/9031/Fool-Proof-Birdseed-Method
Which will guaranteed end up a pain in the ass with starchy grains clumping together and bacterial problems
