Liberty cap habitat

Hey there!

Since I moved to new place, I need to find new fields to look for mushrooms. Can you post different pictures of fields  what sorts of grass is growing there and how it looks like ?

Is this place worth looking for more than a hour?

When can I be sure that there are and wont be any shrooms there?

What area of the world do you live in?
Do livestock graze those fields?

It looks kinda dry, might need to wait for more rain.

Trial and error is the only real option.  I've seen fields that are perfect for shrooms but none grow, spores have never made their way there.
I've also seen them grow in what I would thought was an awful place, beside a road next to a lampost on a small patch of unhealthy looking grass.

Keep an eye out for any other types of grass mushroom. It's a good indication that the areas is right for Libs.

Doesn't really look it but do you know if that land has been farmed/ tilled in the past few years?  Libs need a long time to colonise and don't like having their network trampled by heavy animals or tilled by machinery.

Took me a season to learn the right conditions and still only found a small amount.  But every year since then I've found more and more as i've avoided the poorer spots and focused on the most likely places.

Good luck!
