I wasn't diagnosed with HPPD, but I experience mild psychedelic effects occasionally usually while I'm stoned, sometimes sober if I'm tired or just waking up or something, if I have HPPD, it's a mild case, but I do carry a nasty little disorder called depersonalization. Nicotine has always helped me with both and really helps me steady myself during trips.
Honestly the effects you are perceiving may be from a lack of oxygen to your brain, you did say were a chain smoker right?
Also, dissociative drugs pretty much made all my mental problems surface, the classic psychedelics have helped me recover and helped me in ways that are simply unexplainable.

Naltrexone and Narcan will both mitigate your DP/DR, and on the cheap.
It's fair to regard me as our amateur psychiatrist, and seeing as I start working with a world-renowned psychiatrist this October, by all means message me if there's anything I can do for you!
I'm a chain smoker only as of this week with the family situation (I haven't been bothering my parents; my Grandfather is in hospital...).
Now that I've sworn off dissociatives for at least a spell, I'm eager to see what classical psyches might have in store.
My best friend, and most of the shroomery, seem to think Shrooms would be of great benefit.
PM me regarding your depersonalization if you'd like as I have been following the recent research. Also, if doctors see it fit to deny you such treatments as opioid antagonists (which help depersonalization), I'm more than willing to make this possible for you and have a small pharmacy of my own that I've amassed over the last year or two, including endorphin antagonists such that help with DP/Dr.
I would love to help you in any way I possibly can.

I tripped for years on mushrooms before I tried LSD, and I only tripped 1-2 times a year, as soon as I tried acid I'll trip multiple times a month. Definitely try Acid first, it made me fall in love. If I was you I'd focus more on acid and mescaline before mush. Mushrooms just seem to be such more of a mindfuck to me.

Oh and I have a shot of narcan incase I get a bad case of depersonalization form my MXE use. Useually I'tll stick with me for a day or two after a high dose hole, but some amps usually knock it out of the way.

Very prudent, and this speaks to your pharmacological competency.
I was just a few days ago advising a member here to look into Narcan or Naltrexone as an alternative to biofeedback for his DP/DR, seeing as he still had some considerable obstacles in the way for biofeedback.

No. Although, I really don't have HPPD to begin with, but nicotine has no effect on the few lasting visual effects I do have, or on flashbacks. I haven't even had a flashback in months now that I think about it.

I generally think all you "heavy" users should take a step back for a longer time because the more often yout take these substances, the more your mind gets adapted to slipping in and out of depersonalisation. NOT HATING! Hope you'll be better soon.

Nothing Narcan or naltrexone can't deal with. Usually...
