Inoculated the bulk substrate in these 55gal. Monotubs

Incubating the tubs

I decided to fruit my Golden Teachers tub a little early, but here's what I'm ending up with.

Some of those are 6inches tall, it's pretty cool.
Harvested some of them a few hours later.

I took a print from this one.

My final yield from my first monotub was 5oz. dry.
I did some other things with extra mycelium, just to see what I could/couldn't do with the stuff to better understand how this works.
Fruiting from dunked Rye grains.

Fruiting from 50/50 coir/verm sub, in a catfood container that i've kept open in my room.

I also have a patch of Rye outside that i covered with dead rye grass. It's starting to fruit right now, I'll snap some pictures sometime today.

It's fruiting these tiny mushies

Harvested my outdoor pile

Looks good to me. Fruit when colonization is complete. For me that's usually about 7 to 14 days from spawning to full colonization but go by what you see, not by a timetable.

What did you do to fruit from the grain jar? I'm currently trying to do that and I dunked it (figuring they had used a lot of the moisture already), and then put a quart ziplop bag over the top, hopefully the gaps on the edges will provide enough FAE, I'm hoping condensation forms on the inside and drips down to initiate pinning. Not sure if it'll work, but I can't find too many people who have fruited directly from the jar so am looking for advice.

I dunked it, and put a 1/4 inch 50/50 casing of coir/verm. I used a had a plastic container on top of the jar with two holes stuffed with polyfill. I wish I could give legitimate advise, but I'm not well versed on this subject.

blank85 said: Holy shit I am jealous. These are the results I had hoped for but I've been failing miserably. 3 trays all very spotty growth before getting trich.
Are your monotubs MS? What is your bulk substrate?
My last tray I spawned to bulk coco and 15 days later 5 pins appeared so i initiated fruiting conditions. Now it has tric and no new pins apart from the initial.
Yes, my monotubs where MS. My bulk substrate was hpoo/verm/coir/straw.
I'm sorry you're experiencing contams, I've been lucky enough to have been contaminate free.
