Are you just looking for information about Illithids, or do you actually play 2nd edition?

Just looking for the information and backstory on them. I've only ever played 3.5, and have been told that 4 is dumbed down, but have considered trying earlier editions just for the hell of it.

are the earlier editions better in any way? i imagine theres pros and cons for both.

It's a picture of a shadow priest doing Mind Flay ahahah.  I thought it fit in this thread well

Dude I played a lot of WoW many years ago... it was fun as shit.  It never got boring until they came out with new expansions.

An online campaign among shroomerites would be awesome.

oooh, I didn't recognize the spell. I was only ever a healing priest.

I spent a large chunk of my life playing a few years ago too. The expansions kill it for me too. Like cool, I basically can't enjoy the endgame content for the old game anymore because everyone is doing the new endgame stuff. Forced me to buy up to cataclysm

But after getting two final characters to max level in cata, I realized the game is crap and I didn't like it anymore (only took 200 extra hours of play :smirk:)

Healing is fun, too!
I played a priest as well, if you didn't think by now ha.
I preferred shadow, but I also would heal with a Discipline/Holy combination, with more points being in Discipline.
Discipline was fun because mana regeneration was sooo fast that I could spam heals all day long.  Also Discipline priests have really strong bubbles they can cast on people, it's a form of pre-healing, if you will.

I played most at level 70.  Then I got to 80 and played for a little, but was never as into it as I was at 70.

I also have played a shit ton of Runescape hahahah.

Forgot what the school were called.

Unfortunately, I never tried discipline, but you make it sound cooler than holy

No, not really. I had lots of fun playing 2nd edition when I was a kid, but 3rd was a vast improvement. And yeah, 4th felt really dumbed down. Like they wanted to make it more like a video game.

Goin all TSR on this bitch! :youthemandawg: I would definitely play a campaign but I'm pretty sure they were rocking 4.0 and fuck that.
Wizards of the coast took all the creativity out of interesting gameplay.

Did you ever rock "Spelljammer"?  It was basically a 2.5 campaign set up like a fantasy set in which an alien ship comes down and starts fucking around.  It was Neat.

But honestly I fucking loved Ravenloft!  They had some wicked ass creatures in they're monster compendiums.
Dark Sun was kind of neat, but it was really fucking hard.  Having to worry about desiccation is really fucking lame.

that spelljammer one sounds pretty cool actually! I was wanting to make astronomy a bigger part of the game in some way. Maybe theres an astronomer prestige class somewhere

hadn't heard of the other two before. desiccation as in you dry out?
