Hello shroomery!
We are bunch of guys located in the heart of Europe. We are experimenting in field of permaculture and like. We've been successful so far and we want to try cultivate v. volvacea in our conditions, which are suitable. But we failed in search for culture. "Mushroom brains" in our country are saying that there is none in our culture collections.
So I'm asking you, fellow mushroom farmers, is here anyone from Europe, who has viable culture of volvariealla volvacea, so called paddy straw mushroom??
Thanks for your response. I've been vivid fan of shroomery, all the info here is very helpful, so thanks for that as well

Hi there,
I do not live in Europe, but my company carries the best strain of V.v on the market, and we very often send cultures out of America to Europe. If you are interested please check out the link in my signature. Our strains are guaranteed for life! We also have many other excellent strains, and I will be starting a permaculture of my very own next to a large green house, so if you guys want I can make some recommendations of other species that will work wonders for your project.
Good luck!

I am all ears, do tell about this project. I'm thinking of putting in a jean pain mound, or compost hot water heater, to heat my grow rooms during the winter.

My Project or the V.v permaculture project? I do suggest the compost pile. We actually got a bunch of kegs, cut the top off of them, painted them black, filled them with water, and now grow water cress, water lilies, koi, and goldfish in them now to heat ours. It works surprisingly well

Sorry for my late response and thanks for the tips.
Drake89, as we don't have natural environment suitable for cultivation of volvariella, we will try it indoor with few approaches. We are very skilful at breeding specific species of fish totally ecological way,and as byproduct producing enough amount of heat, that we will (re)distribute into our "mushroom space". So far we are in run for p. citrinopileatus and p. djamour, just arranging rooms for inoculation, etc. I'll appreciate feedback from community, so I'll be posting our development.
HT_AlohaMed, so far our best shot is CBS in Netherlands for same price and is closer, so much less stress...I'm worried that it might not make it from USA. You as well suggest overnight shipping on your website.
Still, I was hopping that somebody from the community, hopefully from EU, has viable culture. I searched, but found only few post from folks from USA, Indonesia or Thailand
