I had a lucid dream recently where I was looking at my self in a mirror, very fascinating stuff. It totally didn't look anything like me, my face seemed to be composed of a myriad of different parts of different peoples face constantly in flux, very loosely representing my face. Somewhat like those animations that cycle through different faces, or the suit that Keanu Reeves character wears in A Scanner Darkly to conceal his identity. Kind of like this, but as it changed it was constantly loosely representing my face.

And I will concur with spinning or looking around keeping one in the dream longer. For me it seems to "ground me" within the dream much more so. I've been lucid dreaming since I was about 5, but only recently have I realized this works, this past week. I didn't hear about it, I just caught my self looking around a lot in a lucid dream while I could feel my self on the verge of waking up, and so as long as I was constantly looking at something different I remained immersed in the dream.
I also experience the same stuff with clocks & time on digital things. When I'm semi-lucid and disoriented, (aware, but not fully aware I'm in a dream) looking at clocks or the time on a phone is one of the most confusing things ever. I've spent what felt like very long periods of time staring at and analyzing a clock or a phone in my dream, desperately trying to read the time and figure out why the display is all fucked .

anybody ever meditate on drugs? lol is it even possible??
Believe it or not, meditation on MDMA is quite something, at least for myself. So much so I always try to use some time to have a short meditation session while rolling. One would think mdma would make the mind hard to concentrate or keep from jumping around, but for myself it's so very easy to slip deeply into thoughtless awareness. MDMA has actually helped me with lasting focus and concentration in my daily life, more so than any other "drug", and that aspect crosses over into my psychedelic experiences and my ability to remain calmly focused when needed.
Anyway...not to keep on rambling. But to relate to and get back to the thread subject. Meditation and lucid dreaming both take a very similar approach for me, being what I call "passively aware". Being aware of what's happening and going on, but be passive, just observe. It's so very fascinating, the moments in dreams where I can literally watch my thoughts construct the dream right before me. There is no separation from my thoughts and what is occurring in the dream, it's like a feed back loop.

Actually...since it's mentioned...I was having sleep paralysis a few years ago and was being "attacked" by an "entity" of sorts, a some what common theme/occurrence with sleep paralysis. Except this time around instead of the common feeling of being choked or sat on, it felt like I was being sodomized by the thing , one of the more bizarre things I've experienced, woke up really confused .
I've also had encounters with what I suppose some people would call a succubus, during a few sleep paralysis experiences.
All of these things I encountered before I heard about them or knew people actually experienced shit like this. I seem to be incredibly susceptible to all sorts of "sleep" related phenomena, always have been.

^^^^ lol. The ol' mirror. Yep, on my first lucid dream I looked into the mirror & I was my normal self, however, my eyes were fackin' huge. My iris was green with what looked to be symbols imprinted in them, and huge ass pupils. Kinda freaked me out at first. Also, I couldn't focus on looking at my computer chair & everytime I even made the slightest eye movement the chair would spin and move to a different spot.
& Yeah, I've experienced the 'succubus' entity as well. Cool stuff, mang.

Highly Recommend this video for anyone looking deep relaxation. I've never been able to astral project from this but have some amazing physical sensations from it.

The the old hag/succubus isn't good, it is worse than your worst bad trip on LSD/shrooms
at least my experience with it was(full hallucinations), before I learned to face my fears
now I only see shadows mostly when I'm about to separate, but they still feel evil they usually leave
is the risk of sleep paralysis bad trip worth it for lucid dreaming? I think it is, but SP bad trip can be as life changing bad as any bad trip on psychedelics but only if you let it scare you - I was 12 at the time remember it like it was yesterday, it's 15 years ago
A good lucid dream on the other hand feels better than the best psychedelic experience I've had, better visuals too - but not always very meaningful right away/if at all the thing I really like about it, is how refreshed you feel after it, like you just slept 3 years, in 3 hours... renewed energy like you never felt it before, body feels good
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis , kinda interesting with 'around the world ' section pretty common phenomen, didn't know it was common until I researched when I was 20 or so but fits my experience 99%, full hallucination demon that you can hear and feel come into your room and sit on you

But have always had something chase me in the air everytime in almost every LD, something evil that I try to get away from ;-)
have had lds/sp regularly a few times a year during my whole life, happens mostly if I sleep on my back/stomach , else it doesn't really happen it seems

In haiti their boogey man is a dark figure who comes in during sleep paralysis and molest you! Whether that means annoy or sexual molestation I'm not sure.

My original plan was to try and astral project but I honestly just got into this type of stuff so I figured i'd just let the meditation engulf me.
This is the weirdest feeling ever.. I tried this a few days ago with the same feelings as a result. I'd get into it and the deeper I get into it, the stronger it feels.
It feels like i'm spinning, robotic, 1 million pounds and vibrations. It's similar to the symptom when your sick with a fever. You feel... big but small at the same time, spinning, robotic, ect. it's just weird man.
The only thing that concerns me is.. I don't want these feelings to stick forever. I hope it's not a hazard to my mental health because I do like this whole meditation thing but if this is the case then I aint gonna be able to keep this up. When I first just came back to from this event, I still felt it while moving around! It seems to be subsiding but I still feel it.. ugh.. I wanted to go deeper in this too but I got woken up :/
Anybody else ever feel so weird while doing this??? Or am I doing this wrong??
Meditation shouldnt feel weird man. Whats your method?

It's definitely an odd sensation I once meditated for an hour, and spontaneously astral projected into a grove that I had been subconsciously creating...met a strange dude named Draco in all white.. copies of myself dressed in white hunched over computer control panels; strange stuff

I've not read the thread, only OP... I'm currently taking a more serious and active approach to meditation.. as a recovering drug addict I must say that it is doing wonders for helping me centre myself and my mental and physical health (both reciprocate each other).
I've played around with meditation for the last few years.. I had a peak experience whilst meditating on ketamine and was completely unprepared for what I got myself into (I'm a ketamine addict, for the record). Basically as I was unprepared for the experience, as I got to the deepest point I've ever got to, a brilliant light started to emerge, this snapped me back to reality and I had a full blown panic attack (never had one before) and I'm fairly sure if I didn't get it under control I would have died (this was the catalyst for my urge to sort my life out and address my addictions).
The day after it happened, I stumbled across this piece of text The Basic Method of Meditation by Ajahn Bramavamso. Normally I'd just click stumble again and look at pictures of cats, but something compelled me to read it.. It seriously changed my whole perspective on meditation.
To surmise, if you're going to play with your body & mind, it greatly helps if you build upon a solid foundation (aka, read that link ^ ).
