Game looks badass. Like what resident evil should be like now. It really lost its magic for me after the newer consoles came out.

Yeah I beat this game on my laptop last week. I actually picked up a xbox wired controller used from gamestop after pirating this game to play it fast as hell and return it for credit on GTA 5 for ps3 (already had it for a couple days on xbox )
I gotta say, I'm ballsless when it comes to scary things like videogames and stories and movies and such. Once I tripped my first time recently (Like 2 weeks ago friday) I said fuck it and downloaded the game. Gotta say, I ACTUALLY HAD FUN NOT BEING SCARED lol it was like, shit, I just felt true terror. Some half naked guy running at me ripping my arms off or some weird sounds got nothing on this.
Play it if you guys want. Was definitely worth the 5 hours or so story. Ending pissed me off though.

I handled it pretty well.
The first two hours of the game will make you shit bricks, but after that, its all repetitive shit and the scares are very predictable. Its actually sad just how predictable.
The game is mostly 85% jump scares and loud noises. Youll be desensitized by the middle of the game and be able to complete it.
That said, I highly recommend a download. I wouldnt purchase it, its not worth the $20.

well, yeah, that's probably true. but my computer hardware is shit, plus my computer broke down not too long ago, and never really did anything to fix it, so now it gets all hot and shuts down quickly after it gets there.
i just use it for listening to music and the internet, and maybe some low graphics indie games. but a graphical cool lookign game like that, i'd want to play with a nice framerate and maybe at least medium graphics settings. i couldn't with this piece of shit. oh well, if it's only twenty bucks, that's really not a long haul for a mildly enjoyable game. i just love games like this, where the main focus is you in a FPS perspective, just exploring; with no shooting. i always kinda dug that concept, so regardless, i'm gonna try and at least see it. i rarely ever finish games anyways. sadly, i'm sure this would only be available online, no retail so... i'd have to spend the money. dang.

yeah, but like i said shiste computer prevents me from truly enjoying it. plus it'd probably overheat and shut down from having it been busted recently.
believe me, if i wasn't skiddish about cracking up my computer with to much power outages, i'd be at least trying the game in low settings (to get a half decent frame rate on my shitty computer) to get a look at it.
meh, maybe if the DL isn't too big, i'll try it anyways. but if my computer overheats, then that's an issue. no good damn computer. my computer is an asshat.

I think your comp can handle it on low (assuming a low end rig from 2009). It uses the unreal engine I believe but the game was developed by an Indie studio so the graphics arnt crazy in any way.
Headphones are a must, though.
I recommend Amnesia (the first one) if you want a true excellent survivor horror experience that I guarantee 100% will run on any crappy system.

Amnesia is a sick game. i have it on my HD. but any idea what to do in the beginning. i honestly haven't been able to delve into it because i just simply don't know were to go in the beginning. after the boulder tumbles down locking you in that room (i think with the easel somewhere) i can't get out. i checked all the walls and everything, no success.
(PS: yeah, my computer should be able to handle Unreal tech on low, BTW. as long as it's not a cheap proprietary engine. that's just what i was worried about; but Unreal is a pretty forgiving tech)

Might have to check a walkthrough since I played most of that game on mushrooms and dont remember it all too well, but if its the room Im thinking theres a trap door connected via rope that you need to pull in order to open the door.
If thats not it, theres a section you need to blow up a boulder/s with a chemical bomb youll make

i know it couldn't have been the chemical bomb, cause no way the devs would have anyone scrounging for parts to a bomb, in the very beginning of the game? would they? well, thanks for the rope tip; cause come to think of it, i checked all the walls, but really, i wasn't looking up so i probably missed the rope.
i love the insanity effects in that one. you play Punumbra?

Yeah, I bought the Penumbra series on a Steam sale. Its pretty nice, although a bit clunky. I managed to kill a dog once!
Had to use a walkthrough at some points because I did not know what the hell I was doing

yeah, it was basically the prototype for Amnesia, essentially. clunky, but quite freaky.
