Gills:
Light brown fairly close

Stem:
Light Brown with white fibers, darker brown towards base

Cap:
Roughly 1 cm to 1 inch diameter conical when young, flat and semi wavy in more mature specimens. Brown with lighter rings or Lighter with brown rings?

Also I think I found a young patch of G. Luteus growing from a stump if anyone has got input on these also it would be much appreciated.

I think the first ones are a Gymnopus species, and the suspected gyms are Pholiota.

Gymnopus dichrous? The size and cap pattern fits, none had that sort of chanterelle shape Im seeing on some though. They were way cooler looking in person, the sun hitting them was really making it tough to get solid picture. I grabbed a couple to take prints, should be white if its a Gymnopus right?

Gymnopus dichrous might be a decent fit depending on where your located.  I'm not totally sold on that name, but I still think its a Gymnopus of some sort.  Yes, a white print would point in that direction.

Stem: 1-5 cm long; up to about 5 mm thick; more or less equal; dry; tough; finely hairy or finely velvety; buff above, but colored like the cap or darker below; with a very slight, fuzzy, swollen knob at the point of attachment to the wood

Couldn't match those better.

Hmm Pholiota should have brown spores, it must be something else.  Can you take a photo of the spore print and post it?

They need to sit longer but they are coming out orange I think, I am colorblind though so a second opinion is always needed! :tongue2:

I think that's still in range for a Pholiota.  Compare with this print:

I could be wrong though -

My phone distorted the color of the prints some, also on the caps there's a glare from the sun. The prints still pretty faint but it looks similar to the early stages of the gym prints from the other day. Although the cap is slightly tacky which makes me think pholiota is possible. I'll post a better print when I can for sure.

Keep an eye on them too of course.  As they get bigger it will be much more obvious what they truly are!

There were 3 similar patches around that area to keep an eye on, two of them were just barely popping up. It would be cool to get a time lapse of them growing every day regardless of what they are.

Better prints of #2

Also a #3 that was growing by itself on a large oak log, 2 inch diameter orange cap, orangeish yellow stuffed stem, orange close gills

These certainly look more orange now that they sat a bit.  I think it might be a gym after all.  It's not one I'm familiar with though.  Hopefully Bloodworm will pop in and see these posts.  He is good with the genus.  Nice finds, at a glance they sure look like Pholiota.
