Today is THE DAY

That I finally get my lazy ass to the gym. I haven't worked out in so long. Especially since my bike got stolen. Hopefully I don't just go today and this starts a new routine of health, along with healthier eating. It's hard though.... especially since I am a full time student at a somewhat difficult school. This summer I had planned to lose weight as I typically do during the summer, but this summer it just didn't happen. In fact I gained 5 pounds over the summer, perhaps because of cooking all the time for my ex who couldn't cook, and also perhaps because of drug use making me unmotivated.
But now I am back in the productive swing of things and off the drugs. To a healthier and happier life!

make sure you keep you STRETCH BEFORE and AFTER. Keep your reps low since you're getting back in the swing. Don't get too gung-ho or you'll wake up tomorrow feeling sore and not wanting to work out.

Well I have classes tomorrow anyway and an exam tuesday that i really need to study for so I probably wasn't going to work out anyway... but I should probably start finding at least an hour to dedicate during week days to working out to really be successful.
BTW can anyone recommend me a good healthy cook book with some nice simple recipes... I like chicken. Also I doubt it but if anyone knows of some weight loss supplements that actually work let me know. =] Tried Ally or Alli or whatever it was once and was having orange goop leak out of me, really nasty.

Don't focus on the number. Eat good and exercise and you'll be healthy.
I'd reccomend superfood juicing...organic if you can.

vegetarian cooking and drink a lot of water. Who needs a cookbook with meat? The only meat you should be eating is bacon. if you prefer you need chicken eat dark meat chicken due to the higher fat content. any weight loss supplement is usually a stimulant that would suppress appetite. Drink water mixed with raw honey and lemon 3-4x a day over eating any type of candy or sweet. This actually is what i reccommend for a 'weight loss' supplement. It really helped me detox my body and gave me added energy. I replaced the habit by eating a tablespoon of raw honey over anything i would normally eat and it helped tremendously kick specific junk food habits.
good luck! if you ever feel like you're slipping back into fatness, remember there are always hills to climb and it's harder if you weigh more.(from personal experience )

This is a reminder to all of our daily demotivators, where there is a will there is a way!

Drink Yerba Mate. It's good tasting, green tea, really good for you, mild stimulant and thermogenic. Awesome ritual and drinking tools.
They actually put it in fat loss pills, but I figured why take pills when I can get a nice green tea and have a good convo starter?

I know a guy in phx who makes his own out of organic produce and he does it the right way so the nutrients stay live through the blending process. I'm going to start doing it as soon as I can afford it.

So he blends them instead of putting them in the juicer? I wish I had a really nice blender so I could do that too but juicing will work until then.
I found my juicer on clearance at walmart for $24, on amazon its $75 so I got lucky.

No he uses a juicer, that's what I meant I'm just not that familiar with juicing because I've never juiced. I've heard him talk about it a lot though. I know that using a cheap juicer is a waste of time because it takes a lot of the nutrients out of the juice. If someone was going to get really serious about juicing they would have to spend minimum 350 on a vitamix..it makes huge difference.

Well most of the time when you juice produce it will strip a lot of the nutrients, like from the skin and meat parts, you're just getting the liquid out of it. Very expensive juicers don't strip them as bad, you'll see a huge difference in the amount of pulp you get w a cheap juicer vs an expensive one.

Yeah that's a better way of putting it. But yeah he strains all of his stuff so there's no pulp. He makes some delicious smoothies too. One juice or smoothie has 50% dv for protein, and I've always noticed a huge spike in energy so that helps with getting my lazy ass to exercise haha. The best part is that it can serve as meal replacement so I don't have to worry about eating processed shit.

So wait, Why would I want dark meat with more fat content? I'm trying to lose weight. And about the lemon and honey thing... I will deff try that!
I bought a kale cook book because I have a bearded dragon who loves kale so I am always stocked with kale. Pretty stoked to try the kale chips, salad, and kale pizza!! Mmmmmh!
I also motivated myself to go to the gym again today. For the second day in a row. I haven't changed my eating habits much but I'm doing real good on working out. =] Its funny its actually harder for me to eat less than it is for me to work out. When I was younger it was the opposite.

Funny you say that about the energy boost part, lol I'm the exact way. Its almost like a drug! I love it haha but it tends to make me crash.
Isn't that crazy weird? Lol

Yeah, totally! Haha now that's something I cannot explain. I guess being tired might be a part of the process. The crashes suck sometimes though! It's like coming down from some dank haha

i used to juice but i just got a new blender for a decent price and have been using that instead. i hate to admit it since i do like juicing, but the blender is much more effective and of course it doesn't waste ANYTHING. i hate having to throw away all that pulp (the good stuff!) when i juice.
OP, as far as cookbooks go, i'd just go browse a bookstore and skim through some and get what looks best for you. i do this a lot at half priced books. good for you on getting back to the gym, i'm trying to do the same.
