They finally grew, few questions on whether face planting is bad and what to do now

Hey guys, after months of care and waiting, and to my great surprise this actually worked. They took awhile to start pinning, I think it was a humidity issues fixed by the gradual addition of more cakes until the whole thing is full. Before they started pinning, I flipped one upside down, so the mushrooms just kinda grew downwards. These two one this one cake are really big, so they are kinda squished against the ground...
Yea, they aren't exactly the beautiful perfect things you see in the pictures on this site lol. But how do they look? Does the cap look like it will open soon? are they good for eating now?

Here's another cake, they look a little more normal.
Anyway question on drying. I've read so many different opinions on this my head hurts. All I have for a fan is one of those like 2 foot tall boxy fans. If I lay them in front of it for a few days in the garage, would that work? (I live in Florida though so garage might not be a good idea idk) I was really thinking about oven drying them. If I put them in a toaster oven at like 150 for 10 hours, with the door ajar and a fan blowing inward, would that work?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks mushroom bros

If you have a couple box filters and some bunge cords. You can put them between the two filters and bungey them to the fan. Stick the fan in the window and it actually works really good.

With your humidity in Florida fan drying on its own won't get them cracker dry. A dehydrator is the best way but if you just can't afford one there are many other options. Some you've already suggested. If you don't use a dehydrator you'll need to finish them off in a desiccant chamber.
If you plan on storing them very long make certain they're cracker dry (crumble when you squeeze them) and you seal them up airtight or they will rot

Those are begging for brighter light so they can finish. Fan dry for a few days and then put on desiccant until cracker dry and they snap when bent. RR

Hmm how much are dehydrators? I mean a quick google search revealed there are $300 ones and $40 dollar ones, do they work the same? Because if it's only $40 I can do that. I don't have that many really so It doesn't have to be big. Do the $40 ones work?
And yea, they have been light starved since the beginning. They are in a closet, and I can only open that closet when my dad is at work. Cuz uh he doesn't know.

The $40 ones work fine. Bed bath and beyond have some nice ones for around $50. You won't regret buying one. They are really cool to have around the house for many more reasons than mushrooms. I dry bananas, apples, grapes, black cherries, hell whatever. I even make some good beef jerky and deer jerky

Lol I'm 18. well if it makes it any better my mom knows, I just haven't told my dad yet because I didn't originally and if I do now I don't want him to be like "well why didn't you tell me earlier?" I don't think he would care though, once they are grown I'm gonna show him and be like surprise! (He already smokes with me he's not all anti-drugs and stuff).
ANNNNYway, thanks for the advice, I think I'm just gonna go get a dehydrator, probably a pressure cooker too so I finally just have all the right equipment.

Pressure cookers make noise. They are not stealthy.
