Spores got illegal to import.. got 1 old print laying around

So they did last year ban the import of mushroom spores to norway.
But i did find one print laying around. I used to grow years ago but havent for some while, there has been plentyful of liberty caps to pick to ensure my supply which is 4-5 trips a year. Well I did get this cubensis print I think its been 2 years ago. Not sure what strain it is or anything but I figured Ill grow a batch now just to ensure myself some more prints.
But this is a old print taken on tinfoil, it has been layin inside a big book for all this year hidet away. which has been standing up so it havent had a big weight pressure all these years.
What would be my best bet growing these cake? I need a easy setup i was thinking just buying some glasses and make small cakes with verm and rye flour.
Also what would be my best bet for further storage of new prints? How long can they be laying around for. I want to keep spores til the kids grow up and moves out of the house so i can setup a grow again. So I dont really plan any growing for the next 12 years
Ideas, advices and suggestions?

Search PF Tek and follow it to the letter. Your spores can be used to create a spore syringe (search for 'make spore syringe' or something similar) which you can inject (inoculate) into the BRF cakes you make with the PF Tek.

Well your spores can be used to make a spore syringe if you think the print is sterile. If not you may want to look into growing out your culture on agar so you can clean it up if you need to

Stro's Spore salvage tek.
There is not a lot of success stories of decade old prints being found to be viable. It may may be related to procedure. You may need to use agar at that age to contend with the possible contaminants that could affect it. However what you are suggesting is that you may use this print in its 14th year of existence. It is very possible, but seldom that it is done just because of the availability of most prints. Experts in the field will have better input.
I agree with you 100% on your idea of making a grow now to create prints. As for long term storage, I hope someone with experience in this matter chimes in. I would love to know as well. I would assume that a print is the best long term storage, but what other things can be done to better the lifespan? Is there something/some place that will keep spores viable longer?
Sounds like you know what you are doing, and I wish you luck.

If i plan on storing a print for a while I:
1. Dunk in h202 in a SAB 2.print in a mason jar. The shorter and fatter ones. I believe they are called "master" mason jars. They are like 2x5 or so.
Anyways they are uaually dry and good looking.. and like whippy said, isolating on agar would be a good idea when retrieving years later

Dry spores will last longer, so I always dry prints in a small desiccant chamber, then fold them up and put them in tiny ziplock baggies. If you are able to store them in the fridge, be sure to use the door of the fridge, as the back of the fridge may get too cold.

Just a thought, the Sg30 strain was a revived print from 30 yr old print.. Good luck!

I would definitely do this with such an old unsterile print

There should be one or two old threads regarding long-term storage of spores in distilled water. (I think it was spores and not mycelium...) Possibly by RR, Agar, or Roadkill? You might have to use the search engine a bit to find it.
