Can I leave my grain/corn/whatever to colonise for 10 days?

Hey guys, so I'm looking at my first cultivation of some golden teachers soon but right in the middle of the time I want to do it I have to go out of town for roughly 10 days, would I be able to safely leave my grain jars to germinate/colonise for that amount of time? I was thinking I'd do everything up to and including putting the spores into the sterile media and then leaving them to colonise until I got back and then doing the rest of my stuff.
Thanks in advance for the help. Peace.

Yes. You will be lucky if they even germinate in that amount of time. Let alone fully colonize. They certainly wont

Oh cool, it will be bloody hot here though when I'm planning on doing it (68 - 86 Fahrenheit), do you think that'd still be fine?

Yea. Hot or nt there is no way your jars are going to colonize in 10 days from multispore.

Yeah I could probably afford to wait until I get back but I don't want to have more shrooms than I have time to take as well so I would rather set it up before I leave if I can.

I'd be a bit worried about the jars overheating if you are expecting really high temperatures...

Obviously its not gonna colonize In 10 days but if you're still worried bout it you got a couple choices ya can do.
1) you can simply wait til ya get back and do it. 2) if you decide to do it then id make sure each jar is separated from each other just incase a contamination occurs it don't spread to all the other jars. 3) put all in 1 place nd hope for the best.
As for your temperature 86 is pushing it and 68 it will be slow as hell. Personally I try to maintain 77-80°f

What are you talking about? With a proper filter, contaminated jars being in close proximity should not pose a problem. Dafaq

You can put them in the fridge while youre gone after inoculation toslow growth down. Wouldnt have to worry about overheating. I mean 86 is a bit on the hot side and could increase your chance of contamination....
Anyone care to back me up on this?

As long as the jars are in the house you should be fine. Don't leave in the sun. Where are you storing these jars? Don't out in fridge. They haven't even germinated yet.

So leaving them in possible 86 degrees would be better than storing them in the fridge while hes gone?

They'll be in the bathroom of my house, which is the coolest area, I'd rather them go slow than overheat but I have never monitored the heat in there over summer, which is when I'll most likely be doing this. Either way, I'll make a grow log when the time comes.
