Having trouble with an ID.

Habitat: Found in woods.

Color: Pretty much the entire mushroom consists of a brownish-beige color.

Stem: Sturdy, solid.

Cap: Light circle around the edge, darker in the center. Rough texture.

Bruising: No noticeable color changes from bruising.

Spore Print: Brown.

General location: Southwestern Virginia.

Paxillus involutus or a similar species is likely.

Thanks for the reply. After looking into the Paxillus genus, it does seem somewhat likely, but I'm still quite unsure.

how does it smell? all the Paxillus I have found smell somewhat sweet and or fruity

It has no distinct smell. It barely even gives off an odor.
