still fairly new to cultivating mushrooms, since my 1st lc went so well, starting some penis envy shrooms I started 2 jars of lc and I also injected 4 jars of wbs. Like the 1st time, my lc jars seem to be very prolific and just brimming with myc. The 4 jars of wbs I also inoculated at the same time were not doing that great, only 2 of the jars showed any growth and it was very small at that. So I injected each jar with pretty much a full syringe of the lc and now only days later the jars of wbs are doing great, all full of myc on the outside so now I am basically just giving them a week or so to fully colonize the middle of the jar. I tried shaking the heck out of the jars but the myc has taken a strong hold, but I could tell there was some wbs in the middle that had not yet colonized. If I did not have the lc, I think it is a fairly safe bet that the jars would still be barely showing much of anything. Plus of course I still have 2 jars full of myc which will allow me to try a few different methods of cultivating them so hopefully I won't screw them all up. I do not know if it makes a difference or not but when I did my 1st liquid cultures, I experimented and added some azomite to one jar and it did much better than the jar without, so I also added it to one of these jars of lc. The 1st time I added it, clueless that I am, I was just thinking that it probably could not hurt anything, and it was an experiment after all, and again, it may not make any difference whatsoever, but I am pleased with the results I am seeing so will be adding it to every lc I start. Looking at the pics I think it is pretty easy to tell which jar has the azomite in it.
While both jars are doing well, the myc. in the jar with the azomite in it is MUCH "fuller" - if u look at the top of the liquid you can get a better idea how it is in the jar - there isn't anything "stringy" about that jar, it is just a giant blob of really good looking myc.. Plus I have already taken 4 full syringes of myc out of that jar, and again it may not have made a difference but it took off like crazy once in the wbs and filled the jars really fast. If I were smarter I would have done 2 jars of the wbs with the azomite mix and 2 without......but I am obviously not that smart. I would give it a try when I start some more but as I feel the results have been so good, i will probably be adding the azomite to all of the jars from now on. Every thing else is exactly the same between the 2 jars plus they have each been shaken the same etc. While the one jar without the azomite is full of myc, you can easily see the difference between the jars. looking at the pic of the one without, it is not a great pic but you can see how it is "cloudy" and that is of course the myc. Looking at the jar with the azomite, there is no mistaking the myc. It obviously wouldn't, but it looks like it is ready to start growing the actual shrooms in the liquid. Basically you can just let your eyes be the judge.
For me anyway, I am now a big fan of the azomite. I grew some autoflowers using it and they did fantastic and tho I could be wrong, the myc. sure seems to be much more prolific with the azomite added.
With or without azomite, at least for me, the liquid culture is the only way to go. It helps speed up the colonization of the wbs and you end up with as much myc as you could possibly need. As I am a big fan of the Penis Envy strain, I could now pretty much keep an endless supply of myc going - which may be handy as I can't say I am the best cultivator of shrooms yet, so at least the lc gives me plenty to work with. I did shake the jars after I took these pics and the myc with the azomite was much harder to break up, tho it did. Now if I could only grow the actual shrooms as well I'd be set for a while

I have a bag of the stuff in my backyard.. d'oh.
What was in your LC before the azomite, and how much azomite did you add ? I have the little round balls, not sure if there is a ground up version. I did try and dissolve them in a cup of water just now, and they break down fairly easily.
Thanks for sharing your pics too, congrats!
