Hello I found these mushrooms today, and I would like to have a second opinion. After some research I would conclude that they are Lenzites betulina, yet I think it may be useful to have clarification and also simply to share my find with you. Here are the pictures below.
http://
Habitat: Wood - Found in deciduous woods, growing straight from a fallen rotting tree.
Gills: See picture
Cap: Brown, 2-3 inches across.
Spore print color: Unknown
Bruising: White
Location: Europe

Lenzites seems like a good guess. Was it growing on birch?

I would call this a young Daedalea quercina. Labyrinths look too firm to be Lenzites, and are closed. Habitat also points to Daedalea.

Really? I got it backwards once again, then. I thought it had changed to daedaleopsis. I'm too lazy to check that sort of thing

After comparing the two, it seems that I was wrong. Thank you very much for correcting me, this forum is excellent.
As for its uses, I am aware after some quick and sporadic research that it is been investigated for its properties.
One of which is, the anti-inflammatory effects of its compound qeurcinol.
Is there any knowledge of its use, as a tincture, or tea or similar.
Thanks again, for the quick response, much appreciated.
