I have 12 .5pints, when my jars were innoculated there was the normal specs that radiated outwards, but on some of them i noticed a light grey growth around the rim of the specs. On two of them this grey growth spread very quickly much quicker than the mycelium, I can't tell if it's just a thinner layer of mycelium or a contam, it's been there for about 6 days and hasn't changed color.
It's summer here and so the only way to keep my room a decent tempature for growth is to leave my windows open, we have had an unusual humid summer this year (100% humidity 2+ weeks) and keeping my windows open makes my room humid as well, which I hear is good for cobweb growth.
Has anyone else seen this greyish rapid growth inside their jars? I have already isolated them for now and turned on my A/C to lower the humidity just in case.
I agree with Paid. You should also be very careful with A/Cs, clean the filters and try using it the less you can, they are incubators of any kind of spore and microbes you can think of, not good for mushrooms cultivation.
