ID: 3 different species (reishi? chaga? and ???)

Species #1

Habitat: Wood - Found in poplar rotting stump.
Gills: Cream, polypore
Stem: No stem visible
Cap: Zones of brown and white outer edge, dull looking, immature fruit appears as a white blob that turns brown over time.
Spore print color: Rust
Bruising: No color change was observed.
Location: Saskatchewan, Canada
Species #2

Habitat: Wood - Found in dying poplar trees. I am trying to figure out if these are chaga, so I guess none of the typical mushroom identifying characteristics apply. The charred look surface appears on the dying trees (poplar), and when I scratch at it it appears right under the charred looking surface is woody material.
Location: Saskatchewan, Canada
Species #3

Habitat: Wood - Found dying poplar tree.
Gills: Polypore, cream to grey in colour.
Stem: no visible stem
Cap: Grey and white zones
Spore print color: Couldn't get a spore print, couldn't even rip the mushroom off the tree.
Bruising: No color change was observed.
Location: Saskatchewan, Canada
Thanks for looking!

1) Ganoderma applanatum. The heavy spores are what we've been seeing the last month or so, guess fall is the time they spew.
2) Doesn't look like much of anything yet... Could be chaga forming or could be damage or some other pest... I've found burls on alder that seem similar.
3) Fomes fomentarius or maybe, just maybe Fomitopsis officinalis. How large was it? Only the single fruit?
-------------------- "Shrub, 30-90 cm. Leaves 2.5-) 4-9 cm, sessile or amplexicaul, broadly ovate to ovate-oblong, obtuse or rounded to subapiculate or subacute, when crushed not smelling of goats." "The initial quake was a 6.6 but fairly shallow. I felt it as a prolonged up and down vibration followed by a jolt forward and then to the left, like square dancing."

Awesome thanks! the last one was about 4 or 5 fruit per tree on 2 trees. Like there is one and then 2 feet up another, and another 2 more feet up from that one, and they are like rock hard.

But how LARGE were the #3??? Did you compare to both the names? Which one do you think it is? It would be quite awesome if it were officinalis, but probably the tinder fungus. This was one of the fungus that Otzi had on him when he died.

The fruits weren't very large, 2 maybe 3 inch in width. I think it may be the first you mentioned as it wasn't found in an old growth forest, and not on a conifer . Much thanks for the ID though.

Gotta dry it first. ;-) Then there's a tortuous procedure of shredding it or some nonsense I read somewhere. F that. If you want to use it for starting tinder, use a band/miter/chop saw and slice it up. I think a big chunk would burn quite awhile, and you're supposed to be able to get a flame going in the middle of big ones with a coal and just use that as your stove. Yeh.
These conks are rock hard when dry, so if you want to break it up do it immediately.
