Stale Air = Trich???

So some of my fully colonized cakes are getting trich while awaiting their first flush in the SGFC..
I did a little searching and found that this means they are normally contaminated before hand during colonization and then the trich takes off when placed into an FC.
However, ever since building the SGFC to tek standards I feel that a lack of FAE is causing stale air and hence the Trich getting a foot hold in some of the cakes.
Any thoughts or suggestions? This green stuff is start to make me an unhappy camper..
***I can take pics if that will somehow help.

If you built your SGFC as per the tek then there should be abundance of fresh air.
Are you sure it's not bruising? That's the only way I imagine it could be related to the new SGFC. If you let the perlite completely dry out the cakes dry out and can bruise heavily, which might be mistaken for mold.

Unfortunately it was definitely trich. Im getting a ton of fluffy mycelium and that means a lack of FAE right?
I moved the SGFC to a different location in the room (lower/closer to the floor) to see if that helps.
Im still a little confused and worried though =\

If you have mold showing up before the first flush then they were contaminated at some point before they were done colonizing. Which, unless you birthed them before full colonization, means they were contaminated during the inoculation, possibly in the spores or on the needle itself, or mold got in the jar some other way while they were still colonizing.

Correct. If they don't make it to first flush, the contamination entered at inoculation or during colonization by shifting the verm layer, usually from handling.
Get the terrarium away from the floor. 90% or more of all mold spores in a room are circulating between your knees and the floor. RR

This time I definitely noticed I tossed the top casing verm around the sides of the jar while they were colonizing from handling them too much. This is something that was never a problem or that had even occured to me before. (I was wondering how verm made it down the side of the jars. Whoops...)
I generally don't have problems with contam's in my syringes or after inoculation. So this being the first time I completely/obviously "overhandled" them, I hope thats the cause.

I have two options really. The top of a bunk bed I dont use, or on top of a big chest about a foot off the ground next to a window.
I Have a 6500k light so I'm guessing the bunk bed?

The bunk bed should be alright.
It's best just to not touch the jars at all unless an obvious issue arises that requires them to be inspected/moved.

In the future I'll definitely leave them alone. And as soon as I get home I'll move the FC higher.
Thanks for the help. It is much appreciated.
