First monotub grow ever!

Thread was originally asking about WBS jars colonizing, but i'd like to broaden it with the entire monotub and showing results as i get them.
the substrate is 15ish quarts, comprised of 70/25/5 coir/verm/gypsum, 2.5" depth, and a 1:3 spawn ratio. I put it into fruiting on Sunday, 7 days after birthing to bulk.

this one was taken today, about 2-3 days into fruiting

I'd give it another day or two.

they look funky?? here's a higher res shot of the 3 i just took. first time with grains so i want to make sure i'm not spawning anything bad. either going to spawn tomorrow night or monday morning. the little 'orbs' on the left jar are part of the glass

i have two monotubs i could use. both have 75% coir, 20% verm, and 5% gypsum composition, but the sizes are slightly different.
would i get a better yield from 2.5" substrate, 15.24 quarts overall, with 3.81 quarts spawn, OR 3" substrate 13.45 quarts overall, 3.36 quarts spawn. both are 1:3
sorry for all the questions, i want to make sure everything is optimal

still looking okay? this is 4 days and 8 hours after spawning. the yellow discoloration is from the camera flash. is the condensation on the mycelium an issue?

closeup
it looks a bit fuzzy to me, but once again, this is my first monotub, so i'm not really sure what to expect
im thinking at the 8 day mark i should be all set to fruit
EDIT: I took a small piece of the substrate with the lighter/greyish wispy growth on it. I have some 3% h202. If i dip it in h202, cobweb would melt off whereas mycelium wouldn't, correct? It didn't melt at all, which is good assuming cobweb does I think it is just weak mycelium that appears greyish because of the dark coir behind it

already? shouldn't i let it go for a few more days to make sure the entire sub is colonized and not just the top?

I mean another day or two never hurts. However, if you mixed your spawn and sub well enough then the entire sub should be just as colonized as the top.

i took a pic of what the sub looked like under the piece i took. it does look whiter than pure coir, but i'm not sure... i did mix it pretty well, but it was hard to get it 100% even. next time i am going to make a sifting box

Hmm, you might want to wait for the advice of a more experienced member on that spot.

I'm sure it wouldn't hurt, just make sure you watch that spot because you never know what could be causing it to not colonize.
Additionally, the water droplets on the mycelium is normal and to be expected when maintaining a good level of humidity.

thtas not the only spot thats uncolonized, look at the top left there is another spot. if thats not a casing layer the I'd say you introduced to fruiting early.

just worried about it not colonizing correctly. for anyone who's ever taken a sample from the middle or just broken their coir, was it completely white, or just dark with a touch of white?
