Just checked out the prints on foil. Bright ass orange. How come when I did it on white paper is would come out rusty brown?

You didn't let them sit long enough, Gymnopilus prints should be "bright ass orange" and very thick.

Because foil reflects a different spectrum. Prints on foil should never be used to delineate genera

I used wax paper when I tried to get a spore print from those purple footed corts that I found last week, I left them overnight and no visible prints showed up. They were also young specimens though.
