So I have quite a few jars of dehydrated candy caps from last year and I aim to bake something with them soon, or turn them into some sort of dessert. Ive been scouring the internet and have found some promising recipes but i was wondering if anyone has baked/cooked with these mushrooms before and had perhaps their own recipes to suggest or variations on some that are out there that you may have improved upon.

also if anybody has the pleasure of living on the west coast and you are ever in the bay area this place might be worth a stop for you

this place in oakland makes a really delicious candy cap donut (vegan) that is to die for. it tastes like butter, sex, and maple. its pretty magical

best way for making candy
first you will need some decent boomers, candy molds, big pyrex glass bowl, milk, chocolate for baking and i like to ad hershey chocolate for taste, two pans for double boiling and food processor
step 1 use your food processor to pulverize your dried crop it will turn into a powder this method works best for not only for consistency but taste as well most people hate the taste
step 2 melt your baking chocolate and hershys in equal parts using the two pans and the double boiling method low heat do not burn
step3
remove chocolate from stove ad contents from food processor into the pan when you do this the chocolate will clot or thicken badly add milk and stir this will bring it back to its proper consistency add sparingly little by little and stiring until you get the desired consistency
step4 pour into molds and place into freezer very simple and great for consistency
as far as a batch goes i generally use an ounce of boomers,3 molds 8-10 candies per mold about the size of silver dollars so you get roughly 25-30 this will give you a feel on how to get the desired strength of your candy good luck
