Looking for experienced hunter to school this greenhorn!

Hello shroomery!
It's been about three years, but I've finally made it to Washington!
Since discovering this forum years ago, it has been my go to for all things mycological. I have been reading a lot on identifying wild mushrooms, and have even been attempting field/print identifications with my various field guides. But I haven't really had anyone show me the ropes! (Rhizomorph joke tehe...) anyway... I've been living in Seattle for about a month now, and these past couple rainfalls have sprouted a few mushrooms in parks I frequent, and have also sprouted a feeling of excitement in me for the impending season.
Now getting down to business: I am in search of a veteran psilo-hunter who would be willing to share his or her love of mushroom hunting and ingesting with me by "holding my hand" through my first foraging or two. I revere nature immensely and respect the consequences of misidentification, and so I feel a guide/teacher would be golden. (On fire with these puns aren't I? ) I'd like to learn when/where to find cyans, azures, stuntzii, and even agarics if you're into that as well. Another thing I'd like to learn (if we're lucky enough to stumble upon...) is which mushrooms to avoid and how to differentiate them in the field, if possible, or by printing. If you're willing to show me a few good spots of yours, i.e. share said spots in future seasons, I would appreciate it immensely! I have no intention of profiting from these endeavors, nor do I think it's my place to upheave an entire patch. I believe that when proper treatment is given to wild mushrooms, they will reciprocate proper treatment onto me, and I appreciate the "spiritual" aspect of sharing my consciousness with another entity, especially one that can give so much insight into oneself and the world we live in.
I have no problem driving to meet/carpooling to a destination. I get great fuel economy and have most afternoons/evenings/weekends free. I thought it would be a good idea to get this interaction started now to make plans for the months to come. If you feel like I am describing you in this post, please send me a pm, or if you have any general knowledge to share regarding hallucinogenic mushrooms, e.g. locations, typical habitat, quick identification "look for", please post in this thread!
Thank you for being a wonderfully helpful and welcoming community, shroomery! And thanks in advance to any experts who care to drop in on this discussion.
I hope to meet you soon!

How to find mushrooms http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/12412007
Once you have enough posts and time, there is a forum you can ask for hunting partners
Read what mushrooms grow in your area, learn habitat for them... Go look Good luck... Experience is the best teacher
Peace

Sorry like I said, it's been a while since I've visited the shroomery. And it used to be a lil different... Maybe it was against the rules back then, but nobody yelled at me for it lol. Either way, the respect and getting invited isn't what I'm looking for. I'm not trying to join a gang of hunters or a clique if elite shroomers. I was just trying to be safe.
Shroomery admin: I would like to clearly state that, in my OPINION your "rule" prohibiting asking for hunting partners is dangerous. The fact is that having someone with experience in fields like mushroom identification (especially for consumption) lend some of their knowledge and experience to a "noob" is a good thing as far as safety is concerned. It could even save a reckless person's life... Maybe I don't understand the WHY its not allowed, but if someone would explain, I suppose I might even agree with the rule.
Thanks for all the responses!
And since asking for hunting partners is not allowed here... I am officially changing the nature of this thread to solicit friendship and bonding whilst walking through lovely forests allthewhile NOT HUNTING FOR MUSHROOMS

Thanks for this long list of funguses that are found in Washington state... Though my original post didn't say "I'm too stupid to type 'Which mushrooms can be found in Washington state?' into the empty text field on the google.com homepage."
Lol I kid! I kid! enough smartassery... What do your asterisks stand for? *** GOOD ** BETTER * BEST ...as far as potency goes? Or a scale of rarity? Or even your personal favorite ranking system? I'm curious... Thanks though, seriously, for your post.

it relates to the rarity * being common *** being rare.

hey buddy, i hope i didnt sound rude when i told you bout the rule
i was just tryin to help out. Even tho i have been studying this site
relentlesly for around a year, and hunting mushrooms and plants for
over ten years. i am still brand new to these guys. im just now
starting to interact,in hope that i can give back a fraction of the
help that i have recieved. On that note, i believe the best
guide/partner you can have is a good book and a determination to
succeed. Read everything that you can get your eyes on and seprerate
the good stuff from the junk. Go hunting whenever you can, regardless
of the weather conditions. This will help you to understand and learn
which conditions are ideal and which are not. There is no better
teacher than mother nature herself, and she rewards those of us that
stay diligent and put in the time and effort! btw i am very jealous of
where you get to hunt, i WILL make it to the PNW one of these days!
well the best of luck to you and happy, safe hunting.

Not rude at all, you were fairly clear that you were just giving me a heads up. It took me years to finally move out here and did so as soon as I just went. Just enough money to drive to the west coast. Been living in my car for a month and probably will be for another month until I save enough for a roof. :P fwiw: once I am a veteran, and any noobs need a guide, I will be your guide, regardless of rules. Just pm me if you're reading this thread two years from now lol
