My first, and very spiritual, mushroom experience

In April of 2013, I tripped for the for the first time on psilocybe cubensis. It was 4/20, and my friends and I had plans to hang out. My friend (Ill call her C-Lo) and I were planning on taking mushrooms, however C-Lo felt a bit sick so she decided not to take them. This worked out well because she could drive, and I decided to still trip.
As a background, I had been smoking weed since I was 15 and this would be my first time taking a psychedelic. Most of my friends had told me that mushrooms were a more gentle nudge into the psychedelic mind, rather than being blasted off like DMT or even LSD. At the time I took these mushrooms, I was 17 and a Junior in high school. It's probably good to also mention that I am a male, 5'10" and about 150 pounds.
When I got to C-Lo's house at about 3, I chomped an 1/8 ounce of the mushies down and chased them with ginger ale. My other good friends, BK and Em, were also there and we had smoked a couple bowls of good kush right after I ate them. (C-Lo, BK, and Em have all had some experience with mushrooms and/or tripping, so I trusted them greatly) The first effect I noticed was an energy surging through me. As I sat on C-Lo's bed, I felt my body trembling and shaking with energy. I could even feel this force shooting up my spine through my chakras, opening them and cleansing my spiritual energy. I began to grin and giggle uncontrollably, and everything that my friends said that was even slightly funny would cause me to giggle for a good time. During this time, I started to notice that my surroundings seemed "fuzzy," like static on a TV yet just a subtle texture to my field of vision. I even noticed some subtle patterns crawling across the bed and walls.
Soon my friends decided to leave, since we had to drop Em off at work. I remember chuckling and asking, "We're leaving now?!" My apprehension at first was well worth it as we got into the car. The four of us drove around, smoking a watermelon joint that Em had rolled. As I smoked the joint and looked out the window to exhale, the visuals really began. The trees were almost shining, and colors were enhanced and extremely saturated. The clouds and sky were glimmering with heavenly light that made me grin widely at the beauty around me. After the joint was roached and done, we rolled up the windows and headed onto the Thruway. The action of rolling up the windows and accelerating onto the Thruway felt like taking off in a jet plane to me. As we passed a golf course, I saw a large dirt mound that seemed to look like a desert in Africa. Next to that is a local "golf dome," a giant white plastic bubble that people can golf inside on a mini course or driving range. From the outside, I noticed how ridiculous it looked, and how much of a stupid human creation it was in perspective. I had a hearty laugh over it as we continued on.
Sidenote: While we were on the Thruway, I had a few aural hallucinations. The first was a loop of what my friends would ask me, "You okay?" I would then hear the sound of a Cuckoo clock, and then a quick ascending tonal pattern that can best be compared to Shepard's Ascending Tone, or a sound similar to that of those used in "Space Intro" by the Steve Miller Band. This pattern of three sounds appeared to me in sequence with another, and it was repeated to me every 5 minutes or so for an interval of around 30 minutes. ("You okay?" "Cuckoo~" "♪ascending tone♪")
As beautiful as the scenery on the Thruway was (mostly the trees and organic scenery), I think the fast motion of the car was making me nauseous. I asked C-Lo to pull over as I gagged a bit, but I fortunately never threw up. I sat with my legs outside the open door of the parked car as C-Lo and BK comforted me. The cool breeze washed over me and passed through me, making me feel rejuvenated. While I was sitting, I noticed that the grass was a glowing bright green. It crawled and swayed with beautiful fractal patterns, astonishing Fibonacci sequences in the genetic creation of the Earth. From this point on, my nausea had subsided and we took Em to work.
After Em went to work, we parked in a lot with a nice view where we sat, listened to music, and C-Lo and BK talked. I wasn't talking because I began peaking, and my thoughts branched off to many branches at once. It was difficult to articulate my thoughts to words at this point because there were so many various trains of thought running simultaneously. It felt like my brain was working at 70% more efficiency and was utilizing more of my subconscious and unconscious. My subconscious thoughts, questions, and feelings were brought out to the surface. I learned so many things about the death of my parents, my physical and astral beings, my boyfriend, and my own human perception of the universe. I felt that my semi-conscious desire to be one with nature was transformed into a passion, a wanderlust and hunger to be in the wild and with the natural universe. After I was done peaking, and I could speak to my friends again, we had a short discussion about my thoughts on life. We then got some water from a nearby store, and headed back to C-Lo's house. There, we turned off the lights, lit several candles, and watched the classic Disney cartoon version of Alice in Wonderland while I drew with colored pencils. My mind was incredibly lucid and awake until I fell asleep, and it was churning with deep psychological and sociological analyzations. I analyzed the story and the literary elements of Lewis Carrol in Alice in Wonderland thoroughly, getting many fascinating and useful insights out of it.
All in all, I learned immense amounts of information about myself, my friends, my family, and the universe around me from these mushrooms. I was able to fully accept and embrace the passing of my mother and father, as well as realize aspects of myself that were not exercised enough before. After the experience, I feel an almost tangible connection between my spiritual being and the Earth. I still continue to experience this amazing connection and I have fed it with more psychedelic experience, deep meditation, and self-exploration.
I believe that these mushrooms have changed my life. They truly should be respected and considered Spirit Guides from beyond our physical world. Happy travels, all, and Namaste!

I can't believe I forgot to write the dosage!! Thank you for pointing that out haha
I took an eighth of an ounce, and I'll edit that in there.

Awesome! And no problem. My first dose was also an eighth! I threw up though but I had digested it all before I threw up. I think the reason I threw up though was cause I didn't eat anything all day and that I had to drive, haha, I got home and threw up after all the nervous energy from my wreck less driving experience. I don't condone that though, it was very stupid of me, haha.

Oh, wow! I don't ever really plan on driving while tripping. However, my friend C-Lo from the story once had very very potent mushies that made her throw up.... she was just peaking super hard haha!

I never planned on tripping and driving either although I had on LSD before but I don't recommend it at all. I wasn't really thinking, I had to pick someone up from work and I had just got the shrooms and I started eating em right away and was like, "oh fuck, I gotta pick up my roommate in four hours." An hour later I am texting her saying that I'm on my way and then my friend was saying she needed a ride back to her house soon and I was just in for a wild ride. I drove great all morphing roads aside, saw people and dogs made of pure color standing in the road. It was wild as hell, let me tell ya. Fuckin fun though if you're the rebellious and wreckless sort like me.

Wow! That must've been quite a drive. I can see how that situation would've been tricky though!

Gotta love the mushroom music. That always fucks with my head a little.
I had my own car ride experience while on mushrooms. I remember hearing the engine continually rev up, feeling the vibrations increase until it seemed to "phase out" of reality, whereupon it would begin again. VrrrrrRRRRRROOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM *poof*
Great story! Thanks for sharing.

I agree, the auditory hallucinations can be very strange, but fascinating! It seemed to push me deeper into the subconscious entheogenic state, especially while listening to The Doors. I find that Jim Morrison always helps me get into that spiritual trance!
