Maggots are disgusting. Some animal died in my shed, in the area between the ceiling and the sloped roof and maggots were falling trough the gaps in the ceiling like rain.

You don't know until it starts to stink, and by then it's too late. I actually didn't know until I caught a whiff from across the street and followed the smell back. I'm pretty sure it was an opossum.

I figured the maggots would do a better job cleaning up than I could have anyways.

Score on that find!

:super:

We have one hidden on our property... I still haven't seen it because the blackberries have been allowed to overtake the area.. for liability reasons, and because the county will want to fill it in if they found it... scares me when my car disappears into those bushes... supposedly its nearly 100 ft deep, hand dug, brick lined, probably looks similar to that one! About 90 years old or so, sometime around when the orchard here was planted.

Should probably be filled inbecause it can contaminate groundwater. There's another smaller one only about 3 feet wide not 50 feet from this one.
