hey guys!
just put this casing (1/2 pint BRF, 50/50) into fruiting 3 days ago.  temp 86, its high I know but got a sept heat wave, been ice cubing it throughout day, so temp may be around 82, and humidity at 90%, FAE one fanning an hour (currently unemployed).  I mist lightly it if the coir looking light brown.  mycelium still looks really good though IMO.  was wondering if I should put some wet very on top to keep the surface nice and moist or if it is too late/not necessary.  Im starting new job soon so I won't be able to mist.  FAE still fine though, its in SGFC with lots of perlite and nice occasional breeze throughout APT.

im also doing cakes, just trying a lot out making use of my no job at the moment.  here is one cake in SGFC, 2nd flush.  I noticed stripes on 2 shrooms.  that a common thing?  if so, is there an explanation or just something weird? temp at 86, with occasional ice cubes, light indirect misting.

not so concerned about temp because I read that because it is tropical species, its ok, if not slightly retarded growth, if it doesn't go above 90.  This is B+ in case that helps, both with MS inoculation. both BRF 1/2 pints, just one cased one caked.
Thanks!

The ice is totally unnecassary they grow outside in temps much higher than 86F.  Do not put more wet verm on your cakes what your going to do is trap any contam that has fallen onto your cake in between the layers and probably fuck your shit up.

The stripe is very common I have noticed certain varieties of cubes to have it more common than others

cool, is the pic good enough for u to give me an ETA on a pin set?  Its my first casing ever, and so maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see any hyphal knotting yet, but the myc looks as good, maybe better, than the day I put it into FC.
as for the wet very...I meant should I sprinkle some on lightly, very thing layer, to the casing so that when Im not home I don't have to worry about it drying out.
Thanks for responding!

No one could give you an ETA with mushrooms they grow when they want to and nothing you can do will change that.  I wouldnt add verm a casing drying and rehydrating is a pinning trigger that you want to happen
