So me and a friend are thinking of starting a small scale cultivation of
Agrocybe aegerita Pioppino Hericium erinaceus Lentinula edodes Pleurotus eryngii
we were thinking of cultivating on logs with spawn dowels (buying first 100x of each species and spawning them on 1000 dowels + brf ) then inoculating the logs keeping 100x for making 1000 more and so on ...
where we live mushroom cultivation is not common and there is demand for fresh mushrooms you think this is a viable operation or not
if not can you link me to what should we do we are in deep economic problems and i would be really greatfull if you can help

I'm not sure but it seems like you are planning on all outdoor grows and it sounds like you will have some trouble keeping one strain through the whole time so you will have to cycle and in the winter none may fruit but like I said i'm not sure how those temps even if for short periods would affect it but it sounds like even at your lowest temps an outdoor greenhouse would be easier to keep up to temp than in my area. Really I'm just saying you may want to consider some indoor growing to keep a regular availability of certain strains so your customers know you have those in stock then you can offer other strains seasonally and as available. Just my thoughts if i were in that situation. Hope this helps your brainstorming.

Nope can't do that. You will be lucky to get 1 x reproduction - assuming you have a sterile environment and the skills to do it. But the culture will get tired pretty quick.
The mushrooms you listed all have different temp requirements, HE has a very short shelf life, LE takes practice. To be honest if there is not that demand/knowledge for exotics just grow Grey, yellow and pink Oysters indoors on straw or your local waste. Dead easy, loads of info on here (see the sticky at the top!) people will love them and not know that they are not the most complicated things in the world to grow. As for the money check the link in my sig.

I do have sterile enviropment and the knowledge to work sterile (i have a master degree in biotechnology ) you re right about the culture going weak . Would that happen if i went from dowels to grain and then from grain to dowels?
I will check your link and reply

for continuous production it be best to get an original culture and put it to agar then start yoru process from there so that when your growth starts to tire you can start with a new wedge. I think you want to go sawdust to dowel? So maybe agar to grain. Grain to sawdust at a low spawn rate. Then sawdust to dowel. I'm just brainstorming from past reads as I have a large bag of dowels I have yet to touch. With my grows though its always agar to grain. Grain to more grain. grain 2 to substrate. Of course LC would be a big help to making the restart a little easier. I havent gotten testy with how far to take a culture with transfers yet.
