Is my CFL reducing my condensation?
    #18833614 - 09/12/13 06:15 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

So i have a 27qt monotub and i DONT have 1.5" holes. What i have are four 1/4" holes on the bottom and six 1/4" holes on the top.

Here's what i have:
-a 23w 6500k CFL a few inches from the side of the tub.
-Condensation on all walls except for the side that the light is on

what i think is happening:
-the exterior surface temperature of the monotub is increasing which removes the condensation from that wall only.
-All other walls are 'cooler' on the outside therefore the condensation stays on the interior.

What i'm wondering:
-Is my diagnosis correct?
-Should i be concerned that the light is also increasing the interior of my tub to undesirable temps?

I also have a dubtub (as seen on this post) where i had similar conditions but at a much different scale -- also, the 'dry' spot on the dubtub was not as 'dry' as the monotub wall is.

I hope i was clear enough.  Thanks
P. Bonsai :crazy2:

Should just check the interior temp IMO if it's not too high it shouldn't be a problem I'd guess
