New grower with questions concerning bulk fruiting chamber

I am very new to this hobby and have 15 brf cakes fully colonized and I am building a shotgun tommorow. I also have 12 wbs quarts going I am going to spawn to bulk probably coco coir and spent coffe grinds and case with a 50 50 my question is after much reading I believe I have a good grasp on everything except one thing, the fruiting chamber. It seems that mono tubs and dub tubs are not recommended for beginners but any tek I read that isn't a mono or dub tub seems to be written in great detail untill I reach the end of the spawn run. Then the instruction are either maybe a casing but vaguely just tell you to put your substrate, which is usually in a tray into fruiting conditions mist and fan then harvest. If I am not making a mono or dub tub, which is advised to beginners, then what am I doing exactly with the bulk trays besides putting them in the lower temperature. Can I put them in my shotgun terrarium because I believe that's for cakes, but my only other guess would be just putting them in a plastic tote and misting the walls or just keeping the trays out in the open, and I don't believe i should leave them out in the open, because even though the teks don't give me this info the pics of fruiting trays are always in some type of plastic container. I'd appreciate any answers or links that would help thx in advance

Monotubs are really simple actually. It's just a big plastic tote (generally 66qt) with 4 holes on each long side (2 lower and 2 upper) and then 2 holes on the "short" sides (1 upper and 1 lower) and basically you just dump everything in the plastic tote and mix it up with your hands. If you pasteurized your bulk substrate correctly and your spawn isn't contaminated, you will have success.

Thx and I am considering a mono tub actually but I have 12 quart jars of wbs going and am going to try out another tek as well. A lot of the teks that don't have mono tubs have the colonized substrate in trays. After the spawn run when these trays are ready to fruit there goin in a 68 degree room and being cased with 50 50. I'm just not clear on one thing are they
A. Just sitting on a desk in the tray and being misted and fanned B. going in my shotgun and being misted and fanned C. Going in a plastic bin that has not been altered and misting the walls before fanning. D. Neither of these and I'm missing something

tbh that info sounds a little outdated to me. Cubensis doesn't need a casing layer. I feel like you're over thinking this. If you want to do trays, the trays will go in a sgfc. The trays get misted and fanned while in the sgfc. The temp doesn't matter, room temperature is ideal from what I understand. As long as it's not too cold (like low 50's) or too hot (like 100's) then it will probably be fine. A nice general rule of thump for temp that I learned is if you're comfortable in shorts and a t-shirt then your mycelium is probably comfortable too.

Ok thanks for the information I just thought sgfc was only for cakes which was leading to my confusion I guess and you would suggest not casing my substrate and not reducing the temperature when I am going to fruiting conditions?

Isn't temperature reduction a necessary part of primordia formation or is that outdated

You don't need to drop the temperature with cubensis. They can colonize and fruit at different temperatures or the same temperatures, doesn't matter as long as the temps are reasonable (around room temp within 10 degrees)but yeah not only is a casing not necessary, it doesn't do anything for cubes. However, recently one of the trusted cultivators has reported that using a casing layer for Penis Envy will help reduce the amount of "blobs." But in general, a casing layer isn't needed and wont do much for cubes (with the possible exception being PE)
btw, I don't actually know the lowest temperature Cubensis could possibly fruit at or the highest temperature it could possibly fruit at. I'm just saying with 10 degrees F of room temp because that's realistic for indoor cultivation. But the temp really isn't a concern at all for most people because most peoples "room temp" is just fine for Cubensis.

I really appreciate all the info and just read a lot of that link. I'm going to do a monotub anyway I have one more question for you, any particular dimensions for the holes and again thanks for the info.
