Contamination identification Reishi

Hi guys, I inoculated a bag of grain (milo) with 10 ml of Ganoderma lucidum LC from a jar that I previously checked for purity using agar culture. Maybe I din't sterilize the bag for enough time. The bag appeared to be completely colonized in about a week; I believe Reishi is a pretty fast grower. The picture shows different colors, purple and orange are the most visible. Does anyone know what this is?

It looks like the bottom didnt colonize because of a lot of bacteria. Just my guess. i have seen old grain jars of reishi where the mycelium sort of melts into a liquid as another organism eats it, my guess was bacteria.
the yellow is probably metabolite and the purple could be too, at least i have seen oysters with both yellow and pink metabolites.

Is that picture taken at the 1 week mark and "fully colonized"? How long did you PC for?

Sorry wasn't trying to be a dick when i put 100% colonised in quotation. I had some reishi plates that were very aggressive, I had one even growing over the bacteria. So you might have missed the bacteria contamination at the Agar stage, or possibly you didn't sterilize the grain long enough or prepare the grain properly? Hard to say without much information.

Since that bag is pretty much F'd as it sits, here's what I would try: Mash that whole thing into oblivion, evenly distributing the mycelium, uncolonized parts, bacteria and all. The reishi might just be able to win the fight and recover. I've never tried it in a bag, but it works in grain jars with tough species like G. lucidum and T. versicolor (at least it has for me). Maybe give it a shot, what have you got to lose?

Hi Ripjohnnyc,
I just didn't include the whole story. That bag appeared to be colonized (all white) in 1 week. Then I opened the bag under a flowhood and I used some of the grain to inoculate a bag of sawdust and chips (which only colonized about 25%). While squeezing the spawn with my hands from outside the bag I realized the lower portion was very soft, the grains were getting mashed easily and it was losing the initial white color changing for its original brown. I decided to seal the bag and give it more time to colonize. About 2 weeks later, this picture was taken.
As you all say, it looks like bacteria. I will check my LC jar again using agar. The last time I checked for purity I got these growth patterns. Do you guys see any bacteria on the petris?
Thanks deadmandave and Forrester for your input.

Hi Ripjohnnyc,
I intended to reply mainly to you on my last post, can you check it please?
Nevertheless, thanks deadmandave for your help.

If that is reishi on the petri dish that is the thinnest, i mean the thinnest reishi mycelium i have ever seen.
