Culture vultures, cultivators, and creative types, are the most prolific I know.
I do not mind so called "propaganda" to the contrary.
Before the Internetz, stuff got done. 500,000 people gathered at Woodstock. Note: Notta one cell phone nor laptop was in attendance. But there may have been one or two "Blue Boxes"....;P)
I have faith that we will be able to keep achieving good stuff within the absolute process that Nature's God intended for Democracy. That means, we should retain the right to discuss what is for our greater good, express actions that we wish to take on it, and manifest them hence.
We need not be distracted by the fear based propaganda of the modern age:
"Modern morality and manners suppress all natural instincts, keep people ignorant of the facts of nature and make them fighting drunk on bogey tales...."
"I was not content to believe in a personal devil and serve him, in the ordinary sense of the word. I wanted to get hold of him personally and become his chief of staff...."
"The ordinary man looking at a mountain is like an illiterate person confronted with a Greek manuscript...."
"The joy of life consists in the exercise of one's energies, continual growth, constant change, the enjoyment of every new experience. To stop means simply to die. The eternal mistake of mankind is to set up an attainable ideal."

Actually, PGP is one of the ones they cracked. Frankly, the security industry has known for a while that these things are vulnerable. Everyone should have converted to much more advanced forms of encryption a long time ago.
The main thing to remember is that all of the communications (outside TOR) that all of you have sent online (including your posts on this website) can be and may have been read or recorded by the NSA. That includes all your e-mails, all the order forms you filled out, all your bank information, everything you ever typed into a box on the internet, everything. They cracked all of the most common and most important stuff.
Source for PGP being cracked? From what I've read the government actually uses PGP for their own security. Which they would never do if they had cracked it.

Has anyone been arrested yet? There is no evidence to suggest SR is compromised.

The only ones who have been arrested are the kind of nincompoops who would post their hidden activities all over tumblr or people whose so called "friends" squeal on them to save their own hides instead of standing mute.

Well this is what the article means:
- The government is spying on us on a massive scale
- Don't trust proprietary security software
- Don't share private data with companies, especially not google, yahoo, facebook etc.
- They still haven't figured out how to break RSA or AES
- They still don't have quantum computers, so they can't go the brute force way
Nothing new.

Use proprietary encryption.
That is exactly what you shouldn't do. No way of telling whether there's a backdoor or not.
The more people use tor, the harder it becomes for them to trace you there. The government does not control enough nodes to control the entire onion network (yet), but still be careful.
