What I was thinking too. Not confident enough with cactus I.D. to confirm anything. But it looks like my stetsonia coryne.

So grow it but dont expect to get anything out of it? I have some san pedro and peruvian torch seeds on the way, so not upset about not extracting, just want to know what kind of attention to give it. The plan was, and still is, to do some experimenting with growing cactus with that plant. Got it at a garden shop. Would any kind of tea be beneficial at all? or just grow it for the fun of it?

I bought a Stetsonia the size of yours 3 years ago, and now it's 2 foot tall and as thick as my leg, with 6 inch spines. It's a wonderful ornamental plant. It has no psychoactive value whatsoever. Grow it for it's beauty, not everything needs to be 'useful'.

I found several sites stating it contains mescaline and anhalidine and anhalonidine. And a few other alkaloids. Just in very small amounts. Yeah i plan to keep it, its just wether or not to put it in a grow room or in the sun. I want to get a green house some day, to keep them over winter. Some of my other cactus hate going from outside to inside.

I have had those 2 since spring, about 6 months. Posted on another site then, and no one knew for sure, so I just kept them in front of a window, and recently got back into these forums, so figured this forum would know, which it did, thanks btw everyone lol.

Yeah it's a badass looking cactus even if there isn't enough of anything in it to be worth harvesting. I think it can be used as a grafting stock too.
