I'm a big fan of blueberries so I'll give it a go. Thanks for all the advice guys, I really do appreciate it . I never imagined that the anxiety would get this bad so I think its about time I see how long I can really go without it. I'm at 5 days now, gonna go for at least 30, I don't think itll be too difficult. Just gonna have to change the way I spend my time on Friday and Saturday

I've dealt with minor to major social anxiety for the last few years of my life. I smoke a few times a week and honestly its tough for me to make any connection between smoking and my anxiety. While supremely stoned there's no doubt it makes me more anxious and self-conscious but it's hard to make a connection to my sober state. I have taken 2 month long breaks without any change in my confidence and social awkwardness. My suggestion is to give quitting a try but more than likely there's a deeper cause for your problems than pot.

Do you get this anxiety only for the duration of the high or is it persistent even when sober?
I've been a daily smoker for nearly 10 years. Been through all sorts of situations high. I avoid being high in social situations where I do not know people like going out to the bar or going to college classes and labs. Its just uncomfortable and not places where I can just chill and be my baked self. Anxiety from being high in these situations undoubtedly stem from the social stigma surrounding marijuana not to mention being high on marijuana kind of puts me at least in a rather vulnerable head space which can easily stray to paranoia.
A lot of anxieties come from irregular breathing and the accumulation of CO2 in the body. After I smoked and am fully baked I tend to take shallow breaths. One must consciously remember to forcefully exhale all that dead air in your lungs that is just simply taking up space. Also remember to take deep breaths every so often and maintain a good breathing tempo. People also tend to forget or are not aware that smoking in it of itself produces CO2 which is taken up by the lungs where it binds to red blood cells at a higher affinity than does oxygen. Simply put your body is not getting enough oxygen.
In addition to that marijuana has a strong effect on glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity. With that being said make sure you do not smoke on an empty stomach and to have a sugary beverage near by. A lot of times I feel that, that anxious feeling could also be due to hypoglycemia(low blood sugar) which users may confuse with anxiety and lethargy.
Also I can't count how helpful having a nice cold glass of water has helped ease any anxious feelings coming on.
On a side note I think for users prone to anxiety and paranoia it would be best for them to steer clear of strains of marijuana that are sativa dominant and would stick to the calmer indicas. If you are not lucky enough to be able to take your pick so to speak than I would suggest growing your own this way you can choose genetics that better suit your needs.

^good post.
also I think strains with high cbd are good for anxiety. A tolerance break will probably do you good though.

Id try the tolerance break without phenibut, so you can really assess how you feel. Phenibut effects you throughout most of the day and often there are next day feelings (afterglow or crash). Also it is pretty dang addictive and is supposed to have some harsh WD's. I say keep the phenibut for special occasions, like interviews or occasional high arousal situations. And if you wanna make it a regular thing start once every 2 weeks. That way you can show yourself you can go 2 weeks without it first before gettin hooked on it before you know it.

I understand what your saying, I have heard that phenibut can be very addictive. The problem is, I'm an engineer major and my workload really stresses me out, especially this semester. I've got three very busy days throughout the week, and I planned on taking 1g in the morning to help push off any anxiety and stress I have pent up so I can sit in class and focus. I've heard that as long as you don't dose continuously without any breaks, tolerance does not really build up. I know by taking phenibut, it will be hard to gauge how much the tolerance break is helping, but I feel like I don't really have much of a choice, this semester is already taking on a tole on my mental health. I do plan to start mediating though, maybe that will end up helping me just as much as phenibut I appreciate your concern though, I do not have an addictive personality. I have always kept my weed usage strictly to the weekends, this summer was the first time that I broke that rule and I think I may be suffering the consequences now

it's different for everyone. there's definitely no rule like "everyone who smokes often will get social anxiety" but it can happen.
just try quitting and see how you feel.
I myself go through phases, sometimes the pot starts to take over a bit too much so I just quit and once the mental fog dissipates I blaze again and I love everything like the first time I smoked.
also you absolutely dont need to worry about permanent effects as far as social anxiety goes. if you quit it'll go away

ya man, well just be careful. I dont have an addictive personality and I can use it once a week fine. I personally wouldnt push it more then that. I took 1g on tuesday, and just had 1 beer in the afternoon on wednesday and had the worst headache ive had in years. On top of that I was having muscle twitches all day. Cant say for sure it was from the phenibut but I have my suspicions.
I guess you'll find out once you try it if that regimen will work out for you or not.
You might also want to look into aniracetam, its a nootropic but also suppose to be anxiolytic. Check into all the racetams, you might find they will help you all that you need. Different ones are better for different people, I think I prefer plain old piracetam.

I had lots of social anxiety for awhile it all started from a trip on shrooms. I tripped bad on shrooms and ever since then, a high from weed can bring out deep mental thought causing me to become depressed and very self concious. Took me a year to get over it and now that shroom trip isn't even in my head.
My advice is to stop smoking and limit the shroom trips a little. That's just what helped me though
