Hello! I'm very new and I've spent a few weeks researching the best ways to cultivate mushrooms. Everyone here seems very wise and I'd love some input from you guys during my journey. I have decided to go with the PF Tek using organic brown rice flour, verm, and 10 half pint jars. I ordered a Cubensis Golden Teacher spore syringe and a pressure cooker. This is what I plan to do so far:
1) I will mix together 9 cups brown rice flour, 3 cups verm and 3 sups water in a large bowl and pour into each jar leaving 1/2 for dry verm for the top.
2) I will create four holes in the jar lids for the syringe needle and screw the lids on loosely placing tin foil over the tops
3) Place all 12 half pint jars in the pressure cooker on a rack, filling it with a few inches of water, wait for it to steam and jiggle and lowing the temperature to simmer for 90 minutes.
4) Wait over might for the cooker to cool down and while waiting I will create a box with holes for my arms (using bleached rubber gloves) and a window on top for viewing myself inoculating the jars. (I will also spray the whole room with 1 part bleach 10 parts water)
5) I will bring the cooled pressure cooker to the area, placing the jars in the box. I will sterilize the tip of the needle with a lighter until red hot and give it a few seconds to cool, then add 1/4 cc to each hole in the jar, (I will light the needle tip after each jar)
6) I have read that placing foil over the jars is not healthy for colonization and to place surgical tape over the lids instead, and keeping the jars on a shelf in a temp anywhere 75 - 85 F for weeks until mycelium has completely taken over all of the jars' surfaces.
I have plans for what to do after the cakes are colonized, such as dunking all cakes for 24 hrs and placing two half pints in a gallon sized bag, crumbling them into nickel sized pieces and placing them in a container in the terrarium with the other cakes... though I'd like to know if my plans so far are ideal. Any tips would help! Thank you

Uhm, isn't the ratio supposed to be 2:1:1 (verm:water:brf)?

It all sounds good, I will just add my own personal opinions based on my cultivating experience so far.
1. I have never Pressure Cooked my BRF jars, the most common tek just calls for steam sterilization in a stock pot. More experienced persons can chime in if that is too much for BRF jars, or if it's fine.
2. I've always foiled the tops of my jars and not had any issues with colonization. It's a protection from too much water getting in during the sterilization process. Again, probably personal preference or which tek you are following. I used this one http://www.shroomery.org/11432/Lets-Grow-Mushrooms-Pf-tek-videos
In any case, good luck and do share your progress! Looking forward to seeing your results.
